Well, maybe just me, but I've had some mono-a-mono self convos that got pretty reckless, but problems got solved Jack.  Oh yes, they did.   And...... they made a difference.   It took me at least two decades to learn to be brutally honest with myself.   After that, it was easier to laugh at me.   Or was I laughing WITH me. Wow Lol Lol

I was referring to my interactions on the message board, of course, I have my moments, but it isn't in a speech most of the time, it's usually just a moment among my life experiences... I appreciate the classic political speeches, but Ive grown skeptical. Eisenhower's MIC speech has long been my bellwether.

This is just a message board, it doesn't have to be profound, just entertaining and informative... for me altleast

I think you are being humble, and perhaps arguing for a limitation.   I have seen you be profound, entertaining and informative.   I have read your works and found them to be passionate and profound.   Please don't limit yourself in your desire to be humble.   I am a fan.  ;o)

When we are able to create the short story contests on here, I look forward to your works.

Aw, shucks weren't nothing ... profound is being generous...

At best, intermittent relatability with 90% chance of thunderstorms full of puzzling proclamations, followed by long periods of useless verbal drivel.

One man's profound can be just another man's prolific and perfunctory personality.

Like others here, I miss the old ATS and want DI to succeed... so I just try and post content relative to DI's mission statement.

On ATS, I mostly read, I'd just post if something tickled my fancy

Pretty sure on DI, I have the record for most threads with zero replies and the fewest views

Occasionally, I may have rational, relatable, and semi-intelligent posts purely by chance...

This place is probably just as good as any for the post-ATS crowd. I just wish it had more traction. It seems like there's nothing really going on around here. Feels vacant and hollow most days.

ATS took years to develop its audience and was able to grow while the internet was in its infancy, too.

DI doesn't have that fertile, untainted 1990s soil; it just isn't going to be the same

I think one of the problems is there are now less credible discoveries and sightings then there were only a few years ago.

Someone claims to see a UFO and days later the tools that made it are demonstrated along with the background video it was made on. Look at the bigfoot, he has a YouTube channel. Scientists discover new form of energy. It is from over a hundred years ago and just not practical to actually use. PFAS are building up in the environment. They are finding dozens of strains  bacterial that actually eat only that stuff.

There is little to get really excited about that is not already done, fake, false, or just misinderstood.

With great claims there needs to be great proof. Most do not get that.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

The same Mantra should exist here that was often used at ATS by many.

"Be the change you want to see".

I DO understand how you feel though, and wish myself that I had the time to get into starting one of those in depth conspiracy theory threads or some fascinating story of new revelations that bears regular attention beyond the first page.

I will endeavour to be better and give meat to this place in the long run given the chance, and time is on our side now we have a sturdy Captain who stirs his passion for "that what was", into "this what is".

"Deny Ignorance" isn't just a motto, it's a way of life for some, and on a daily basis, and there are few places where that is accepted in the world of fear these days.

Be Patient. Just keep the flow and don't stop visiting because of a lack of traction.

Wisdom knocks quietly, always listen carefully.... and be a River flowing calmly.

Just post whatever strikes you while reading the headlines; without content, there is no discussion.

It doesn't have to have paragraphs of supporting evidence.

Hell, most of my threads are Look at what I found, what do you think?

LOL I have 40 threads with 3 replies or less.

Even if you can't keep a thread going sometimes, there are others to add content.
