Now it's changed to ice.
WAY LOWER than the 14-24 inches they predicted at the start.
6 inches North of Detroit. Not wet heavy snow. Light! Still snowing. Ice is not fun

Baltimore is being buried under some 8 or 9 inches of sleet/snow combined...

Street services are sub-nominal (as always) and shoveling is a losing battle...

Huffing and puffing... keeping the now "footpath"over the sidewalk...

but the kiddies are out looking for anywhere they can sled down hill....

Living at the top of a hill means I get to enjoy the raucous shrill shrieks that only come with delighted children at play.

Stay warm... it's below freezing out there kids!

Looks like we're pretty much out of it. Our total was about 12 - 14 depending on where you live in the county.

No freezing rain, but we did get a bit of sleet. No power lines down, Thank God 'cause now it's about to get cold. Low tonight is -6 and the high for tomorrow is 8 and it's going to stay that way for the next week.

The most important part : Wife is home and safe. She said the Tacoma went right through it with no problems, didn't even need the 4 wheel drive.

We didn;t have any snow at all here over the night, but it was twenty four below zero on the outside thermometer.  I did go out and shovel a path to the propane tank though, there was about a foot and a half of snow to shovel, did that when the temp got to five below zero F.  I also brought out the garbage to the road, nice not to have to pull the garbage and recycle cans five hundred feet down a driveway with snow on it.  At the time I hauled the garbage to the road it was about ten below zero...nice balmy weather.

The deer "Stripe" had his whole head in the patio door this morning taking carrots from my hand.  He kind of liked  the warmth in here, it was twenty four below at that time this morning.  If he was house trained, I would feed him inside, but even though he is nice, he does spook easily with sounds, so I am not going to have him crashing around in the house.  I hope I win the lotto, I will build a barn for the deer with a heater in it.  Feeding the homeless and supplying them with a heated sleeping area should be acceptable....Especially when they are native American deer.

Just a thought...

Those global warming folks got quiet real fast didn't they ?

Has anyone noticed that the weather people aren't saying "watching out for ice" anymore; they're saying "watch out for slippery roads and freezing rain"?

Lol

Mild sleet here in SC, not the two inches of ice that the weather folks called for. No outages, just not getting out of the driveway for a day or two due to the skating rink. Very thankful not to have to deal with more than we got.

About 4 to 6 inches in SW Missouri over 48 hours. No ice this time. The cold air gave us fluffy snow and the backpack blower moved it well. It even got the first inch or so that was harder due to the warm ground.

My personal agrivation was all the hype. As i get older I have less tolerance for stupid. Half the people thought the next ice age was upon us. We get this one or 2 weeks a year. We have what we need already. Not a huge prep, but enough. But two full days together at home is plenty. We both drive Jeeps so we can get out when we want.

My local area. Northern Baltimore, is looking at 10-12 inches of crystal snow ice...

Seems to have died down now... maybe precipitation is over....
