The problem is that the Bible, both testaments, is full of a lot more than wisdom and instruction.

It contains many troubling and violent elements alongside its parables and teachings.

There are stories of genocide, slavery, misogyny, divine wrath, and harsh punishments that can be deeply unsettling.

I would fear the fella in the Old Testament, put it that way, because that's not benevolence imho.

Some of it is history, record keeping, gossip, letters, laws, psychological brainwashing, parables, wisdom, recipes, perhaps even an encoding of ancient understanding of physics.

I love how it's been changed so many times, and into so many languages, even after the original Hebrew, that you can use it to back up whatever you want.

In my humble opinion, what matters is not the WORD OF GOD so called, it's your personal choice of behaviour and response to said supposed WORD. 
And don't get me into the whole plagiarism of the dying solar God myth.
