I've always wanted to visit DC though. The Smithsonian especially. I'd need a week to take it all in, history nerd that I am.

I toured the White House once when I was a kid, and then when Bush 43 was in office we took our daughter and I got to do it again.  VERY COOL!  We toured the Library of Congress as well as the Capitol Building as well.

We did the Newseum.  That was excellent.  I don't know if it exists anymore.  I remember they had a section of the Berlin Wall.  I was surprised at how thin and short it was.  We did almost all the Smithsoneans.  Best one is the Natural History, and the one with the best food is the American Indian Smithsonean.   We did the Spy Museum.  We were in there 3 hours and could have stayed for another 3 ... so much stuff!   Fords Theatre is a 'must do' when you go, as well as the Peterson House across the street (Where Lincoln died).

When a person 'does DC', they should always go to Arlington Cemetery.  Take the tram tour before walking on your own.  Very informative.

Protests against Project 2025 and Trump Administration. I think this pushback will only escalate.

They still buy into the false democrat narrative that Trump and Project 2025 are one in the same.

Not the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree ...

All they seem to realize is that they feel their freedoms have been taken away and Trump and his administration will be challenged. And that is the way it should be IMO, always challenge that which is deemed unfair. It's not just about Project 2025, it's about their core belief that "We make our future" (remember? the people?). Insulting them without any understanding or willingness to hear them out, also shows a dim light bulb, IMO.

They earn the insult.  And I understand them just fine.  Lemmings.
OBVIOUSLY Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025.
The appointment of RFK JR never would have happened if he did.
Those people just continue the false partisan mantras of the campaign ... THOSE are the 'dim light bulbs'.

The false partisan mantras are on both sides...dim light bulbs on both sides from my vantage point. Imagine the protesters wanting peace? Dim light bulbs indeed.

Did you realize Arlington National Cemetery was formerly the plantation of Robert E. Lee? The feds took it from him, after the civil war, to bury the dead soldiers.

YEP.  That's one of the things they tell you when you get there.   After the war, the Lee family wanted to take the land back.  They got to their house on the land, saw that Union dead soldiers were already buried on their land, and they left.   That's the story they tell when you take the tram ride at Arlington.
