I am under no obligation to you or anyone else.

Then I am under no obligation to buy your unsubstantiated  claims.

What? Pardon criminals and drug lords?  Ok whatever floats your boat I guess......

I'm not a communist leftist.  I don't have to obey my party's ideology to the letter unlike the evil communist left.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Not sure how this is relevant  to the hypocrisy  of pardons for drug lords.

Meaning, why should I agree with it?

Virtually all "pardons" are acts of hypocrisy...

Most are not even spoken about, assuming they can be free from the theater (ahem.)

Some are clearly deserved, others are clearly not... from either useful perspective choice.

"Quid pro quo" is probably in play here... it is an executive (political) power... in a "political justice" 'world.'

I have always found the idea  of presidential  pardons ridiculous.  Such thing should be left to the courts or justice departments.

Allowing a president  such power ensure such a person is not just above the law but also his friends and family.
Look how Biden abused the power.....now Trump.....

I can't bring myself to agree that the US Justice System should have no limit.

Persecution justice is all too real... (Politicians know this, they certainly embody the entire problem.)

Were it left in the hands of certain powerful people... anyone can end up in jail - for anything.  Courts work... but justices have been corrupted too many times to pretend you are immune.

Hence the extraordinary pardon.... a tool be used by the righteous?.. or only to be abused by the powerful?..

It's a bitter pill... and in my opinion, not to be bartered for gain, political or otherwise...
but without it ... no one can ever overturn a courts' ruling...  The courts are not royalty.  They do not govern... their rulings are not law.

I consider it all a work in progress... except the part where all change is vilified and burned at the stake.

Pardons should not be political, neither should prosecutions.

Yet here we are.
