Alaska, Alaska,Alaska…
#1
My beautiful journey to Alaska started off flying to visit family and friends in Seattle. Washington state is home to both temperate rainforests, like the Hoh Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula, and a desert climate in its eastern part, which is a direct result of the rain shadow effect from the Olympic and Cascade Mountains.

Every time I am in Seattle I have to drive to Mount Rainier. It’s the most beautiful peaceful experience. When Seattle is clear you can see Mount Rainier floating in the distance. It is magical.

From the time I graduated high school my path was not college. I drove to Santa Monica, California. I started knocking on doors and knocking on more doors, getting beaten down but I would not give up.

After six months of living in my car, waiting tables, knocking on doors which started feeling like iron gates, I landed a job that would take me around the world for 18 years. It did not take me to Alaska or Wisconsin.

I just spent 10 days  visiting Alaska, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, EndicottArm and Victoria BC.

Alaska is the most beautiful place I have ever seen on Earth. The water I drank purified my soul. The wildlife seen made my mind go wild. Wales, Dolphins, Bears, Eagles. The fresh seafood was amazing. I really don’t know what to say so I will post photos.

We used to have a trip from Houston to Seattle , then on to Anchorage for an overnight. There was a good Korean restaurant in Anchorage if I remember correctly and some famous bar where girls left their underwear and Bras in; not my flight attendants but there were pictures which I thought was rather weird ??? To many guys not enough women ????

That was a long hard 2 day trip which I bid sometimes during the summer months otherwise I was a Central South American or Asia kinda pilot. Nice view of the land from high altitude.

Stunning Alaskan images! As a side note, rainforests are also found in parts of New Zealand's [South Island] West Coast. Checking out that rainforest vegetation and terrain is like a throwback to the Jurassic era.

The water looks pristine.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

The water was amazing. I have to resize my photos, they are over the 5mb limit. I am working on it now!

Absolutely stunning area. I lived in Ketchikan for about 5 years. I've never found another place that felt so much like home. Were it not for family in the lower 48, I would still be there.
