About me, I'm American who predominantly lives in Scandinavia. Possibly moving back to the U.S. next year.
So these stories span both continents.
The more mundane experience: Early 90's in Pensacola, Florida. I was staying with my grandparents at the time. My grandmother was at the back door calling the dog inside. But she stood there for a while after the dog came in when she suddenly said, "Come, come and look!". My grandfather and I walked over and looked out to the star my grandmother was pointing at.
To the left of this star, a little star was moving in a square pattern. Up, right, down, left, repeat. It lasted for quite a while, so long in fact that our awe waned and we returned inside.
The scariest: Having just moved to Scandinavia my parents and my younger brother came up to visit me and check out my new home away from home. I was sitting in one of two guest rooms with my brother. This room faced outwards towards the front. Across the street was a wooded area, next to that two rows of townhouses. To the far right about half a mile away, behind some trees were more townhomes.
There's typically no AC where I live, so we usually have our windows open when it doesn't snow. My brother interested in my "strange" neighborhood was looking out the open window.
Then all of a sudden, he starts saying "they're coming! They're coming!" as he started crying and slumping over on the floor. Freaking me out, I asked "What is?! WHAT IS?!" thinking something was coming out of the woods. I got up and shut the windows looking out towards the woods across the street.
When he finally calmed down enough, he told me he was looking to the townhomes half a mile away to our right. When all of a sudden an orb of some type came shooting up from that area, "spun around" in place (I presume) and shot straight down again.
He was probably fourteen at the time. I decided to go investigate so I got on my motorcycle and rode up there to those town homes. I cruised around the neighborhood a little just to see if something was amiss. Nothing.
An interesting first hand story: I got married in Scandinavia and had a child. On Monday we got up as usual to go to school. I walk her to the bus stop for the school bus. I only rode a motorcycle at the time and I wouldn't take her on that unless it was an emergency, plus it was growing cold nearing winter. The nights are long and the night comes early during this time, so it was still dark as we headed down in between the two rows of townhomes to the bus stop.
We didn't get far when I heard, "Dad what is that?". Looking up, I saw what I believed to be the moon and told her "Oh that's the moon.". She said, "No, that's the moon" pointing behind me. I turned around and sure enough there the moon was.
My head snapped back at this "fake moon". It stood there still, it was relatively large but not sure if it was close and that was the size of it, or if it was longer away and much bigger. I think it was close.
As we stood there in awe looking at it, trying to understand what we were seeing it suddenly "notices us" and "shrinks" to about half it's size. It then shoots up and did a 90 degree turn to the left. It stopped and "shrunk out of ecistence".
Bewildered, we carried on to the bus stop. During this encounter, I didn't even think to pick up my phone to record what I was seeing, I was literally in awe of what I was seeing.
I have a few other stories but they're not half as interesting, I'll toss the most interesting story out of the "others" as a bonus.
I had a friend over who was staying at that guest room that my brother stayed in that time he saw something. I came in to chat with my friend. All of a sudden I hear what I thought was a moped. They make a distinct whine as they speed up.
My friend turns to me and says, "Did you see that?" thinking he meant someone on a moped horsing around I said "no". He told me this was no moped, out from the same townhomes my child and I saw this orb a small orb shot from behind the townhouse and over making that moped sound.
It was probably around 4PM.
I'd be happy to hear your thoughts as to what they may be, natural phenomenon or not!

And I'm gone.... Like a crack in the past....
