Trump has called in the millitary to police cities within US borders.

This would be allowable under the law, in particular situations where civil law enforcement was almost non-existent and the state govenors had called for assistance. In the recent instances, the state governors have reiterated that its police forces were able to deal with crime acceptably.

In fact FBI and state crime figures show a clear downward trend in crime, even though Trump has claimed that crime was worsening.

Prior to actioning Trump's orders, the Federal Court ruled that they were illegal under the Posse Comitatus Act, and that the orders must be withdrawn. Subsequent to that the supreme court has ruled that they are also unconstitutional on the grounds that they break the legal balance of the branches of government and the individual states.

But Trump proceeded anyway, with orders that were clearly identified as illegal. And he did it again and again afterwards.

Those orders calling for troops to do police work and to support ICE (who seem to be totally capable of prosecuting those who flount immigration law) are illegal. The US Justice system said so. The state governors said so. The Congress of the US said so.

And the Congress was urging armed forces to disobey illegal orders (as they are duty bound to do under Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice), but not legal orders.

And Trump has doubled down now, by reposting people who are calling for the execution of Democrats in Congress, for opposing something that he hadn't even thought of a few months ago! WTF!!

He's supposed to be the President, not some mafioso kingpin! This is no longer the America of your parents and forefathers.

I think it's about time for his third impeachment. Hopefully, now that things have degraded so far, no one will block his removal.
