The city with the highest crime rate in the USA in 2024 was Memphis, Tenessee. Chicago comes in at somewhere like 48th in the list of cities by crime rate (highest to lowest).
Here's that list of cities by crime rate based upon 2024 police and FBI statistics:
List of United States cities by crime rate
Chicago, on the other hand in 2024 was experiencing a 5 year low in crime rate, which has continued into 2025.
Crime in Chicago
Perhaps there was a reason all the governors of those states are upset, and the Federal courts have labelled Trump's calling in of the national guard there, an illegal order?

I agree its not a crime wave, its a constant flow. Those statistics are easily manipulated and in the end its one of the biggest cities which is still a gang infested mess that can do much much better.

I didn't even need to check the race of the perpetrator, non-white, because that's the only time you right-wingers mention a crime. You exploit individuals like her to rationalize hate, and there are many murders like this, but they don't fit the right color for you to utilize.
Oh yeah totally people getting gasoline poured on them and lit on fire around every corner man

This would be allowable under the law, in particular situations where civil law enforcement was almost non-existent and the state govenors had called for assistance. In the recent instances, the state governors have reiterated that its police forces were able to deal with crime acceptably.
In fact FBI and state crime figures show a clear downward trend in crime, even though Trump has claimed that crime was worsening.
Prior to actioning Trump's orders, the Federal Court ruled that they were illegal under the Posse Comitatus Act, and that the orders must be withdrawn. Subsequent to that the supreme court has ruled that they are also unconstitutional on the grounds that they break the legal balance of the branches of government and the individual states.
But Trump proceeded anyway, with orders that were clearly identified as illegal. And he did it again and again afterwards.
Judge rules Trump's National Guard deployment to D.C. is illegal
Court Finds Trump’s Use of Soldiers in Los Angeles Is Illegal
ACLU and Partners Urge Supreme Court to Maintain Block on Trump’s Deployment of Military Troops to Chicago
Those orders calling for troops to do police work and to support ICE (who seem to be totally capable of prosecuting those who flount immigration law) are illegal. The US Justice system said so. The state governors said so. The Congress of the US said so.
And the Congress was urging armed forces to disobey illegal orders (as they are duty bound to do under Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice), but not legal orders.
And Trump has doubled down now, by reposting people who are calling for the execution of Democrats in Congress, for opposing something that he hadn't even thought of a few months ago! WTF!!
He's supposed to be the President, not some mafioso kingpin! This is no longer the America of your parents and forefathers.
I think it's about time for his third impeachment. Hopefully, now that things have degraded so far, no one will block his removal.
It blows my mind how you think the judicial branch can rule over executive powers

Those statistics are the best, most assured and credible data that we have on the matter.
Trump is gullible, he is impulsive, and he has no filters that could question what is posted on social media (which clearly occupies almost all of his tiny mind). So he makes these stupid pronouncements and then can't ever back down from them. So he lies, and then doubles down on the lies, over and over again.

You are denying a fairly credible source based upon no credible data at all?

Most liberals are that way because they have compassion and innate bullshit detection.
But, Trump is clearly deranged. He has even started promoting people who are calling for the execution of Congressmen.

How are those statistics the best?...
The rest is irrelevant. All politicians lie. Democrats are spreading lies and false narratives on a daily basis for example.
