You could say that numbers were "imaginary" prior any creating(expanding) of physical space given that there was something in existence capable of 'imagining' them since numbers could not exist in any 'real' 'physical' form in the absence of any spatial parameter, nor in any subjective temporal form in the absence of a time parameter.


It's that Duality thing again

But probably the more thoughtful answer would be that numbers exist in two categories:

1. Objective numbers. Numbers that have real practical value and real physical quantities and measurements.

2. Subjective numbers. Numbers representing quantity and measurement that exist only in thought that are not attributed to any 'real' phenomena(observation).

The number itself could be thought of as an "imaginary" label of course and doesn't really exist, but the 'reality' is in the particular arrangement of phenomenon that it represents.

Typically, when it comes to dimensions of existence it's always the same four that take front and center unless you're talking about some string theory/M-theory nonsense, but if "dimensions" are to be defined using parameters of depth and measurement then other avenues of existence suddenly become worthy of mention, albeit of a slightly different manner, but nonetheless...
