Calling for a challenger on political debate
#31
We do have to agree on a definition of fascism though.

Because, as I see it, just voting for Trump makes a person fascist if you follow the left's talking points.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

If it helps the focus is on the administration using a fascist playbook more than it is about those who voted for it being fascists for doing so.

At most it says behind fascism is a social work ethos that has parallels. But It deals with manipulative/control parallels more than the intention of those that support him.

It gives a degree of benefit of the doubt to the populism he uses.

And so we are clear..

The definition I will even quote in my post will be:

Quote: Fascism - A far-right, authoritarian political ideology characterized by extreme nationalism, a dictatorial leader, forcible suppression of opposition, and the subordination of the individual to the state.

I would use Merriam-Websters definition.

FASCISM Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
Quote:fascismnoun
fas·cism ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm
 also  ˈfa-ˌsi-
pluralfascisms
Synonyms of fascism
1
often Fascism a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition

If I might interject...

both definitions, go into immediate characterization as meaning...

a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime
A far-right, authoritarian political ideology

One points "right".... they range from 'movement' to 'regime'

only "political" is in agreement between them...

This gets deeper than I imagined...
There may even be a psychological component to this word.

... I'm not helping, am I?

To quote War Games, the only way to win is not to play.

My argunent has no problem with the addition of the qualifier "and often race".  Its a more thorough definition then Dictionary.com anyway.

Merriam-Websters has perfectly cromulent definition.

So...  Shall we put up or shut up now?

Someone start the thread and queue my OP already..

Just a question .... what is the actual proposition of debate?

In so many words....

I will gladly make the thread if you wish... but the first fighter must be determined as well...

Will pro lead, or will con defend... first?

What about:

"Is The Second Trump Administration Fascist?"

I am arguing "Yes, it's fair to call the second Trump Administration fascist."

I am making the comparison, so I will go first, but last time I didnt create the OP and was waiting for that to happen.

accepted the challenge so it didn't seem like I should also have to furnish the thread venue. Or should I  quit Stalin and do the thread myself. I just know my argument will get very high Marx.
