Your opponent has raised a question regarding the definition of "fascism"... 

I believe you should resolve this before continuing..

We will be here... baited breath, fists clenched, ready to witness the encounter.

I might suggest Opening a new thread using the proposition as  title... And leading in with you opening post...

But having a humble host might facilitate a simpler full on 'word-counted' opening post... <ahem> 

but feel free to announce it in your own words....

Let's keep all this peripheral stuff out of the way... once the Debate begins I will close this thread...

This debate may turn out to be about the label "fascist" generally, but  one media 'unit' of product is not a debate topic.

I think I've indicated this is going to be a debate with some degree hyperbole.

I will go by the example that has been previously set by the opposing viewpoint. 

My definition and use of fascist in my rhetorical point is comparable to the right's definition and use of communist, socialist, or marxist in theirs. 

The world of today is one of superficial equivocations and drawing bias parallels anyway.

Better wirded addendum to that:

It a double standard handicap to have to argue to textbook versions of fascism when the use of socialism and marxism is applied to free markets and private ownership. 

The arguement there is often one of spectrum dwelling, so my only requirement is my argument is granted the same liberties towards the actual textbook form.

Presumably, in any argument there must be a clear object.

Maybe it's not the definition of fascism or communism that matters- but whether it's
intentionally framed in the sense of an insult, defamation, inflammation, or even agitation.

How words are used is the issue here...

So what form can this debate take?

You can work this out... forgive my comments if they are overly intrusive.

I get you. I will make generalized assertions about behavior, but will not saying something like, "And you are all goose-stepping Nazis" or anything directly inflamatory like that. 

It will make comparisons to past fascists, but acknowledge the 80 years of social progress that has occurred in the interim.

My post will makes an aargument that scapegoats can be shifted to terrotory that is primarily legal and social contribution based, and can plausibly distance itself from civil prejudice. 

It also will acknowledge levels of severity in application of these ideologies, and how it fits and is different.

Its up to everyone else when they want to get this underway... I'm ready to go.
