Ciggy tax in Australia

If I had to pay full price these days, the bill is higher than my rent bill. I buy smokes before I buy food. Financially I could of sunk like many of the unnamed homeless these days.

I kinda get that the government wants to do something to discourage the next generation getting that hook in them. For those where it is too late, financial destruction does more harm than cigarettes.

I worked with a Australian fellow years ago and how he grew his cannabis was to grow the plant to about a foot high then fill the back off the ute up with them  and drive out into the outback and plant them  all over , then go back 3 months later and pull in what survived,  was going to try my hand at tobacco growing this year , just lack of ground or a field stopped me but all good for spring 26 if I am still here .
Never argue with a idiot as you will get dragged down to his level and beaten with his vast experience

Yesterday, 50 shops got shut down in Adelaide for a month for not complying with the governments exorbitant tax rates.

There have been some in the government complaining that they are not making enough money as sales of taxed nicotine products decline. Even though this was the plan to making smoking so expensive that no one can afford it.

For all the money junkies in government, they are acting like a boss drug dealer in taking out the competition while their products are still on offer.
