There is a Chinese science fiction author named Liu Cixin who wrote the Three Body Problem. In that novel the idea of the Dark Forest theory was put forward. The Dark Forest theory basically states there is a 3rd reason we don't detect aliens and its because the default action of an advanced race is when they detect another advanced race to immediately kill it, so all the advanced races hunker down and hide from each other. This theory can be applied to the ultra rich as well. A lot of them keep their wealth a secret for two reasons, to avoid the begging and scrutiny from the poors and to stay off the radar of some very evil people in the upper echelon of the cabal. That is what I gathered from the conversations with people in the yacht owner family anyways.
