Supplies through Egypt to Hamas

Lacking reliable sources, I have to ask about the age of the tunnels, and other things to indicate whether these are new contruction (which would necessitate Egyptian "participation" since any such activity in Gaza would have been detected.) If they are "older" the Egyptians could have been unaware... or rather, the Egyptian government could have been unaware - because somebody was using it.)

I feel for all those people litterally trapped by this violence.  It is a horrible fate.
