US/UK elections;- Predicting by parallels?
#2
Although not in the same dire straights as Germany, Western Europe, and Japan, the UK was a grim place in the immediate post-war years. Moreover, that state of affairs was reflected in the number of people who immigrated to Australia from the UK. The UK, Australia, and New Zealand's domestic post-war economic and trade systems were upheld until the 1970s.

The UK joining the Common Market, the 1970s oil shock, stagflation, and failing economics ended the post-war economic era.

Returning to the present, Incumbent governments and U.S. Presidents lose elections. Voters look set to punish the incumbents for their failures to deal with various issues, including high inflation's nasty return.
