Combatting Disinformation "campaigns"
#2
After listening to Trump's plan that states will decide on a woman's right to choose and he won't mess with this issue on a Federal level, I believed him because he has no choice in this stance if he wants to win. Then Biden came out and said if the bill/law to take away a woman's right to choose on a Federal level was placed in front of him he'd sign it. My belief then switched to Biden's warning.

So you see even as a person who thinks for themselves it can get very confusing.

I believed Trump because of all the information I thought I knew so far, mostly that the majority of the U.S. citizens want a woman to have the right to choose, but he pissed off his base.

When Biden warned that if he won the election he'd sign a law taking away women's right to choose immediately. Then all that I thought I knew of Trump made me believe Biden's warning immediately.

My point here is that even if a person educates themselves there are politicians that blatantly lie to get what they want, then do the complete opposite or nothing at all when all is said and done.

I don't know what the solution is in detecting if a politician is pushing disinformation, except to take a lie detector test.

As for misinformation and disinformation within the 'viral' social groups, well those people want to hear what they want to hear, so they will only hear or see or twist facts as their bias or the group tribal dictates

There are no easy solutions here, yet. Unless they pit good AI against bad AI to root out the lies by some complex algorithm.
