It's no different than all those pop up ads for games that are like candy-crush or find the crap on peoples phones. Tik-Tok steals information just like many other programs do, I think the difference with Tik-Tok is that companies like I-Soon use the data captured from phones loaded with these apps to harvest the data even when the service is not being used. It's like they are always on.
i say that if a government want to really harvest information on the public, then dump that juicy spy money into a real kick-ass MMO and not only gather rare data on people but can also grab psychological data and even threat profiles on users. The reveal of that can even be placed in the EUA of the game since only a few, in any, people read those. I don't get why these governmental bodies go the stoopid route by creating apps that are for posting soft-core illicit porn and stupid people doing stupid things. I swear, if China ever invades the US using the data collected from Tik-Tok it will be a real wake up call to the soldiers of the CCP.
