Calamari clots new info

I recall reading both sides of the so-called calamari clot debacle. 
Some embalmers are saying these are totally normal and have always been there, it's what happens when the blood sits in a cadaver for a long time.
Others are saying these are abnormally rubbery and large.

At any rate, can someone send me some sources in regards to the 'contagious' nature of these clots?
