US withdraws from the WHO

A truly bad decision.  Trump says it's because of “mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, and other global health crises, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states.” (https://time.com/7208937/us-world-health...ithdrawal/) -- and in walking away, we lose the ability to change or control that.

Later in the article, this point is made: “We in the U.S. don’t experience many of the infectious diseases we see around the world in large part because they are stopped in these countries, oftentimes through the support and coordination of the WHO. Funding the WHO is about investing in our own health here in this country.” -- and this is one of the reasons WHO was founded... to help poorer nations control potential epidemics.

But... in walking away, this ability is compromised and America then loses the chance to influence any kind of pandemic response.

Very unwise, IMHO. I prefer our scientists and physicians being able to give input on and help direct responses rather than some herbal supplement person who doesn't know a liver from a lung.

Yeah, what will happen with worldwide travel to the U.S. without proper health checks. The citizen will be infected not the elitsts travelling on their jets paid by you.
