I did a quick search and it was some symbolic gesture of 'opening a holy door at a prison' as part of the jubilee? Maybe I'm not understanding even that far.
I am guessing secular sources and media just saw that part and went nuts with it. One example already I kept seeing media use the term "portals" instead of doors.
What would that mean though? Opening a symbolic door to a prison? Is this a common ceremony?
Thanks in advance for your answers and information. I find the ceremonies and rituals of Catholicism fascinating, I just don't understand a lot about it.
