So Facebook has a datacenter (one of many) in North Texas. I drive by it quite often and have always been amazed by the size.
From Google Maps, you can see the footprint (highlighted) along with a mass-commerical airport to the West of it for size comparison.
Now tell me...do you really need all of that real estate for servers tracking Likes and for storing videos of cats?
