Well just off the cuff, perhaps your guide was referring to the 'sands of time' - that you are the embodiment of the sands of time - considering you were time travelling in the fourth dimension and also doing so while in Egypt. Perhaps iit was a metaphor for you to realize that your soul has chosen to reincarnate as matter throughout infinity to experience that which cannot be experienced in the astral plane.
Or, perhaps the guide was trying to teach you that all elements on Earth is energy and you and the sand are the same because not only can sound separate sand particles into designs, so can you separate yourself as evidenced by your success in performing out of body experiences, as well as separating yourself within time.
