Still waiting for someone to monetize air.
Give it time, they'll get there.
New TV's with data mining programs & such is insanity. To be honest I can't think any of the younger generations have a clue about this when they mount that new flatscreen on the wall.
They don't even know enough to form that question. TV's on refrigerator doors, TV's in bathrooms? To think we were concerned about our smart phones & SIRI in our living areas.
Or putting tape on our computer camera's.
As bad as this trend is getting hopefully & equally tutorials will pop up on YT for people to disable the data collection capacities on their home TV's along with disabling the ad function.
In the 1950's and 60's the "silent" generation quietly and casually allowed their progeny to be "raised" by television... whether it was oblivious trust, or simple ignorance, the wholesale programming of the new "consumer generation" began... Since then, the danger of allowing the corporate/government use of "media as indoctrination" has afflicted the citizens to an immense degree.
This newer technology has the potential to make things even more skewed, depending on the goals and desires of the same corporate/government players.
Only now, they will have us literally 'interacting' with their programs... not just 'watching and listening.'
I hope the parents of future generations don't repeat the past "acquiescence's."
