To my shame I have to admit I never actually new where New Jersey was so I went to look it up just now.
It's right next to New York on the east coast of USA. It's the first stop on land towards very large bodies of fresh water. Good spot to start an invasion. I would be worried if there was odd thing going in Pennsylvania also.
