I used to believe in something similar to that, but not exactly. A few decades ago, I used to believe that star systems, galaxies, and even the universe itself was largely a product of design, and either extra-terrestrials were a part of that design, or they weren't.

I didn't believe in the randomness of extra-terrestrials interfering with these things that were designed, unless of course it was "designed" to be that way. I also believed that given the vastness of the universe that various lifeforms could be created galaxies(or farther) apart that would prevent them from interfering with one another e.g. a form of encapsulation.

Without remaining within a specific scope of "aliens" though such as the greys for example and expanding the "scope" to include the possible existence of any and all lifeforms beyond the terrestrial sphere. I would have to say yes. I do believe.

These days I think we even got entities popping in and out of existence within the terrestrial sphere itself.
