The whole 'comments section not showing' thing is what I would call a "tell."
It's the principle way they can publicly assert "everyone feels [fill in the blank with whatever they want to say]" and not be directly contradicted and challenged by the millions using the platform.
It's not just a "Yahoo" thing... this game of social engineering was what some platform owners leapt on a soon as it became evident that people were "actually" talking to one another.
As opposed to of talking "at" one another - which is what they wanted, since it is exclusively what they do.
