100 Million in LA wildfire relief funds from FireAid Concert funneled to NGOs, many of which had no direct involvement in fire relief efforts. For example, Santa Monica College received $250,000, but it wasn't even touched by the fire
An estimated 75 million in grants was distributed piecemeal, just like that. How does $250,000 to Santa Monica Community College help Palisades fire victims?

#BREAKING: Shocking revelations show that the $100 million raised for Los Angeles wildfire victims was funneled to over non-governmental organizations with many of which had no direct involvement in fire relief efforts. This has raised serious concerns about mismanagement and accountability

that $100 million wildfire cash didn’t go where it was supposed to straight into the pockets of some NGO clowns who probably wouldn’t know a fire hose from a garden sprinkler. These frauds snatched that money like it was a damn raffle ticket, while the real victims got left to burn. Mismanagement? Accountability? Those words mean jack shit when you’re dealing with swamp rats running their scams behind closed doors. This is pure theft disguised as charity, and it’s about damn time someone called these parasites out for the vultures they are. Keep an eye on these crooks this ain’t charity, it’s a heist.

I am not shocked. Look at the leadership of Los Angeles. Public money appears to be their personal kitty. Recall the hiring of Janisse Quiñones at a salary of $750,000 per annum compared to her retiring predecessor who was paid a salary of $435,000 per annum.

Quote:The FireAid website says the concert raised an estimated $100 million designated for "direct relief".
During the concert, host and actor Miles Teller told viewers "all the money raised will go directly to people who need it now and long-term efforts to build it back."
...But last week, in a statement to the Fox affiliate in Los Angeles, the charity said, "FireAid does not have the capability to make direct payments to individuals and that was never the plan. We partnered directly with trusted local non-profits...to reach communities in need."
Fox News contacted more than 70 of those non-profits. Some replied. Others declined. Some are well known like the Boys and Girls Club, YWCA and Meals on Wheels.
Others are more obscure or promised to help specific ethnic groups or artists.
One that promoted "self-determination in the Latino community" vowed to use their FireAid grant to create "a more humane and democratic society by responding to the needs and problems of disenfranchised people."
Another claimed to use natural helpers or 'promotores' to "cultivate egalitarian relationships based on trust and respect." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/califo...r-AA1Jj39b

California is a cesspool of corruption and grift.
I used to work there on occasion, could never wait to leave.

I came across this quote at both Fox and MSN...
Quote:All told, FireAid says it has granted $75 million so far to 188 non-profits. The remaining $25 million should go out in August and will focus on "long-term wildfire mitigation, environmental resilience, and sustainable rebuilding," according to the group.
And this organization at Santa Monica Community College is one of 188 Non-profits that received money apparently.
https://foundation.smc.edu/areas-to-supp...upport.php
So i think they are giving non-profits money to dole out...
I think it will at least have a less selfish misappropriation rate than Susan G. Komen. Where only 19% actually goes to cancer research.
They have 188 non-profits to audit now. The organizers shouldnt have said "direct relief," but I'm sure they slipped in a disclaimer when you donated to let you know that by "direct" they meant it would be "directly doled out to selected non-profits, each with their own focus."
All telethon like fundraisers have that fine print.
But there is context missing from being outraged over 100 million not doing anything.
100 million is like the value of 22 average houses in Pacific Palisades. Yet they lost like 6,300 houses, with prices between 2.5 and 20 million.
What's 100 (but really 75) million split 188 ways going to actually do to rebuild LA County?
Add to that 9,400 structures in Altadena, where it's closer to a million a house. There you almost get 80 houses for 100 million.
But this seems like something that will be important to everyone.
"Why isn't the $100,000,000 raised by these virtue signaling celebrities putting a dent in $265,000,000,000 in total damage? Its almost 0.038% of the total losses covered!"
And really, if you donate to a grandstanding hollywood attention grab, its like buying a timeshare in Venezuela. There's a high chance you gave your money to shady people that have shady intentions.
Though I feel on this one the promoters and performers are covered, and its those nonprofits that should be the focus of any possible thievery.

I don't know IP, but be careful with all the gaslighting, you might start another fire...
The driver of the car taking the bank robbers to the bank gets charged just like the guy pointing the gun at the teller
And let's not pretend there's 20-30% of the damage that isn't insured, even with the StateFarm BS
And as for burning the JUST 100 million dollars, no wonder Gavin and Karen think Cali can AFFORD TO support 10% of Mexico and Central America
Quote:a conservative estimate based on population and typical municipal spending suggests that at least 80-90% of incorporated places—roughly 15,600 to 17,500 American towns—likely have YEARLY budgets under $100 million, given that only larger cities (e.g., those with populations over 50,000, about 780 places) consistently have budgets exceeding this threshold

I dont think there's much here.
They took 75% of the donations and gave it too 188 charities, that's less then 500k per charity.
Just find the complete charity recipient list. This seems like something they should and would provide. Maybe even each charity's allocation?
Then you'd can see the DEI principled list of all the progressive 501©(3)'s that took all of human kindess' money.
Form 990 is FOIAable. They are mandated to be transparent.
If you focus in charity by charity you could catch every single misappropriation that was there if you really wanted too.

Its just hard to take seriously when people are being told to believe that Santa Freaking Monica Community College got 75 million for some bizarro world reason. Like insert the Gene Wilder Meme.
Although their charitable organization has raised 1.6 million on its own. I could see 750,000 given to SMCC or something around there, but I think people are reaching for distractions and evil Californian behavior to return to a comfort zone of sorts.
Cali-hate is like dangling keys to stop the baby from crying. Its something to insert to cheer up, galvanize, or reinvigorate a somewhat disenfranchise base.
And our representative that's leading this charge is a sychophantic little explitive that represents mostly Inyo County and like Lake Mono and shit. Tahoe. The third district up against Neveda.
He has zero motivation in this district-wise, almost no voice in the state's politics (unless national parks are brought up) and solely seeks to fulfill his duties as a member of The MAGA cult.

I'll double check, pretty sure I got the wrong figure, wouldn't want to be the only factually incorrect post on DI.
but where's Tahoe Neveda?
to correct the OP, Im seeing $250,000 for Santa Monica Community College for not catching fire, which was the most ironic part to me, not just the dollar amount. So how does the SMC Corsairs divy up that paltry 250,000 grand
and the 100 million is correct.
and rewatched the video at the link it was discussing the 75 million in questionable grants that's where the graphic mentioning Santa Monica College popped up in an honest multitasking mistake
The weird part is that I don't hate California; I've been there twice, and I loved it back in the 2010s. We stayed across from the Staples Center for work and had to drive hours everywhere else, but it was still a blast.
If I were uber-rich, I'd live in Cali part-time like Adam Schiff
Everybody hates us? Really
Cali craps on the fly over the states and the south all the time.
Hell, I love my home state, but I hope people hate it and never want to come here
This is a legitimate topic, even if my post contains some factual inaccuracies and a few embellishments.

Exactly and then to act so appalled about it when it's shoved back into their face.
