Anew and genetically distinct species of green anaconda has been discovered by scientists.
The green anaconda is the heaviest, and sometimes longest, snake in the world. The boa species is found predominately in South America and can measure up to 20-feet long and weigh up to 550 pounds.
A group of multi-institutional scientists have now discovered that there is not just one species of green anaconda, but two, despite them looking almost identical. Their findings are detailed in a new study in Diversity.

It's like the people who had a boa and the owners just love how it lay against thier daughter and a boa expert told them its trying to figure out if it could swallow her....

but let's be honest yes snake will eat humans, but if your cat was big enough it would eat you too.

I love me some danger-noodles!

Not that I'd try to wrestle with it -- nor do I want to own one (feeding time would be problematic; they prefer live food and that's difficult to deal with, as any zookeeper can tell you), but I do like snakes.

Awesome, I don't like snakes but this is a very cool find.
Glad to find out this wasn't the one killed by poachers, there was a tiktok or short floating around claiming humans had already killed it.
