Songs that touch your heart
#11
Jim Croce left us much too soon.  I always particularly liked Time In A Bottle.  I'll add another oldie below - Rocky Mountain High.  It was one of the things that got me to make the trip to Colorado.  I wasn't disappointed, and can personally relate to the sentiments in the song.

I just listened to it again, very loud!  Lol

Ah yes turn it right up lol.

Some lovely tunes on this thread and had to include this one.

Can't explain why but I always get goosebumps (especially towards the end).

Well, there are too many songs that have touched my heart, in different ways and over decades of seasons.

However, sometimes, I need to purge my heart of a lot of dark matter and this is the song that soothes me the most, notwithstanding the sad undertone.

The Rasmus is a lesser known Finnish band, a bit underrated, but I value their songs.

Most of my childhood music was introduced to me through the church and through the school's choir of which I was a part. So as a young child I would have to say the first song that touched my heart at a very young age was "The Little Drummer Boy" then I was introduced to classical music in middle school, then I was a young teen in the mid-60s so many songs touched my heart during that era.

Thank you for sharing, it is such a beautiful song!

This song should also be loud because I think we all have to be a little bit mad (in a good way) to stay sane in this world.  Wink

Yes couldn't agree more there - always good to be a little bit mad in a good way lol.

Also important to turn the volume right up (neighbours permitting).

Am doing a pretty poor job at explaining why I love these songs but here's another one which always gets me every time.

Have You Never Been Mellow

I think I was just mesmerized by her voice as a kid and the music was interwoven with things that were going on at the time and maybe her music was being inadvertently "interwoven" with profound and soulful awakenings creating a whole arena of provocative memories – evolution (what would it be without the drama)

Right before Covid started I went to my family’s pig farm in Rochelle, IL to check on things. I ended up being stuck on the farm for two months. Everyone told me Covid was everywhere and I should stay in farm country and not come home.

One day all of the trucks were in use on the farm so I drove a tractor 9 miles to get food. In the radio was this song on cd as a single. So I played it 30 times.

Now when I hear it it makes me cry. I never liked county music till this song!
