Your Monicker - How Did You Come Up With It?

I actually never saw this as a name, but "Max" as short for 'maximum', thus: Mars, but no farther (or something like that).

Looked like the andy cap hot fries guy running a spotlight and the hand you could see had dicks for fingers. I planned to slap them under the lid of every road case I loaded. These days I really only do corporate conventions and trade shows...however I am currently sitting backstage at a small concert on the F1 circuit here in Vegas. One of the rare times I work anything musical anymore.

I would love to see that artwork!

It's just a name I used from time to time in various games, etc.
That name was taken pre-21st century, during a role playing session...
No one ever 'gave' me that name or anything.

I kept using it out of silly sentimentality... nothing more interesting than that.

I think that’s great - as it’s the title of the thread. Cool

There’s a big difference in creating your own monicker, and creating your own nickname. I, just so happened to use a nickname given to me, for my monicker.

What you did was probably smarter — as MANY people know my nickname. Thankfully, it was long enough ago they hopefully forgot.

Should I remove the part in my OP about ‘nicknames being given’? Do you think I turned people off (or confused them) by saying this, like you? I’d love as much participation as possible — so your advice is much appreciated!  Beer

So a hybrid bird and dragon?

Never heard this before.

Holy shit, your name has 10 syllables.

I thought my sons’ was insane with the 9 I gave him. I gave him a made up name like my parents did with me, and the same initials, KKC. Very close to yours.

I was envisioning an older, wiser version of this:

I wouldn't want you to change anything.

There must be a million different ways to make a username... using a nickname is certainly one of them.

(But some people can be very territorial about their identities, I suppose they wouldn't be volunteering to discuss that anyway.)

M'Bride and me used to go to the Highland Games, and I would dabble with the Caber Toss, and also cast elemental silver in various clan emblems.   I did lost wax casting for several years, making rings, pins, pendants and other clan emblems.   I very much favor elemental silver -- Argentum -- and thus I tweaked it a bit  to be argentus.  Never capitalized, please.   Silver is so sweetly malleable and easy to work with.   Other elements smell hot and bad when you heat them, but not silver.   Hot silver smells a little like salt, which is to say a very slight odor, sort of crisp.   Cool silver has hardly any smell at all.  Other elements have a scent.
