New Writing Ideas
#1
A thread for any new writing ideas, proposals, and projects for feedback or to be discussed.

Yesterday I was thinking that the beginning/end rhyming scheme might make for a good starting point sometime in the construction of a writing game, but it was just an idea I had, and I did start this thread for the collaborative story writing idea – no rush.

A crazy space story screenplay! No mars or moon! Some odd planet found in another galaxy…

We can leave the genre and writing parameters open for a few days if necessary in case anyone else wants to chime in (I won't name any names), but so far it's looking like science fiction/fantasy. I'd be going a bit out on a limb there, but that's okay. I'll give it a shot if that's what it ends up being.

I guess after genre would come the title, and there may be only a single writing parameter like each post would be one single sentence i.e. can span multiple lines as long as it begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.

Another galaxy – no Milky Way? Andromeda's the first one that comes to mind for me, or I suppose it could be a made-up galaxy with a catchy name. There's also thousands of star systems containing planets and moons within our own galaxy. I think Jupiter has some interesting moons.

This is going to require just a slight amount of prep-work beforehand. Rough plot outline, and I have a couple preliminary ideas for a title.

The plot:

a small group of scientists or amateur radio astronomers receive an intergalactic signal that is over 2 million years old (distance to Andromeda in light years). The signal origin appears to be Andromeda but its precise location is unknown.

Given the nature of this signal it is firmly believed to have been transmitted via some ancient (long lost) civilization.

A strategy is being formulated for intergalactic transport of a scale yet to be determined; science has evolved much since 2024 – we have the technology and can make this work.

Some ideas currently on the table in resolving the time problem are suspended animation, generational continuation, faster than light travel, wormholes and the Einstein-Rosen bridge.

Perhaps in the style of Star Trek, this team would encounter many bizarre worlds and various lifeforms along the way.

For the title I have thought of: The Message, or the Andromeda Code – so far. I just hopped on this and did a quick brainstorm, so nothing is written in stone, and these are just some quick ideas.

You will not get there via warp or any other conventional means. But there is a way; but it has to do with string theory, the multiverse, and the BULK that connects "everything that is" together.. TA DA !! hahahah

The BULK if it truly exist is one strange place with its' waving energy sheets that seem to come together or briefly touch every few billion/trillion years and "POOF Big Bang Time" another universe is created.

Your idea for the project is greatly appreciated by me.

I wonder at the notion of constructing a collaborative writing effort.  Somehow, earlier attempts at this have been problematic... since many authors here are driven by their own creative muses, all of whom are not syncing up with each other.

Preparing a framework seems like a good solution to the difficulties.

I would like to offer my perceptions about this, meant only to highlight what came to my mind as I read and considered this...

Authors have to overcome the idea that any signal we receive abides by the "light speed" limitation.  For example, what is the potential outcome of chasing down an intelligent communication (meant for 'us,' someone else, or literally "anyone," or otherwise) if that signal originated eons ago?  In fact, if it was a message from eons ago, could the adventure not be doomed to find that not only has the originating civilization or group perished by now, they may have also been completely 'erased' by the erosion and churning of time.  Protagonists might get there and find literally nothing.  A sad result.. and the setting for a great twist.

Perhaps a 'galactic' story, unfolding as the travel progresses... a discovery of a story which evolves and resolves as we approach the source.  Maybe even leading to the growth of a sentiment that this "was a waste of time" as we are heading towards nothing more exotic than an archeological dig in another galaxy... or the story could hints and a promising spark of resurgence... after the doomed nature of the originators plight became evident.

To overcome the limitations of physics, we must embark on the journey of cultivating a new capability... time tunneling, sub-space, extra-dimensional manipulation, or other science "magic."  A new and "radical" development might explode our capabilities, and I think that might provide a great first act... especially considering the impact it would have on human civilization.

Or it could start with all those preliminaries out of the way and in the 'past' of the story.

I suggest eliminating some of the more time-tested tropes of galactic travel... or maybe even create a new totally untested tech, untested in the 'literary' sense.

Then there is the character development.  Persons engaging in this writing exercise might consider "adopting" a specific character... being their "Sherpa" through the adventure, and avoiding imposing their creativity on any and all other characters in the story.  Or we might create a quasi-historical account approach, where individual characters become props for the story, rather than the story itself... but that might be boring.

Authors need to coordinate writing activities around the framework without interfering with its' formula... or - it might require an coordinating arbiter, a moderator of the tale, a navigator of it's development.  Is that even possible?  I'd suspect it can work.

It might be good to 'workshop' the sci-fi aspect of this... all authors need to respect the framework, and it would help to develop a "non-competition' attitude about where the story goes...

I love where this might go, and how it might take form...

Please forgive my presumption at jumping into the discussion...

I just wanted to seize an opportunity to yell "Rock on!!"

Thank you kindly. I was hooked up to a machine that uses sub-space. Not hooked up but it uses your energy field. It’s like finding your fingerprint. Only you can be connected!

I think sub-space will be a great add.

We are writing this in collaboration with others!

The Big Bang theory has been a topic of intense scientific research and debate for many years. While the theory was able to explain the universe's expansion, it could not answer what caused the initial "bang." Enter the concept of Branes, which are like energy strings that have been stretched and flattened into sheets of energy with multiple dimensions connected to their surface. There is no consensus on how many Branes exist, but at least one strong and one weaker Brane have been theorized and found to exist.

The total extra-dimensional universe could be like a package of Brane printer paper, where the sheets almost never touch. However, when they do touch due to an imbalance of the Dark Matter/Energy gravity wave fields, a new universe is born. The energy present on the surface of just one of the Branes is almost incalculable, making mathematical calculations extremely challenging.

Gravity holds the Branes of the multiverse close together, while dark energy keeps them separated. Gravity is connected to the Bulk Zone, which is the space between the Branes indicated by the once-hypothesized "M" theory. At only 1% penetration, the Bulk Zone has ten to the sixteenth power of gravity compared to Earth's gravity field. While it is difficult to comprehend, this realization gave science a direction to probe, search, and measure.
Black budget and cutout operations were going at full speed ahead once it was found that the Bulk Zone existed and there might be a possible way to tap into this dimensional zone. When the breakthrough actually happened, and the first of several successful unmanned probes left and returned with pictures from the star Proxima Centauri, which is 4.3 light-years or 25 trillion miles away, it was determined it was time for a manned mission.
Distance means nothing in the Bulk Zone. The further you penetrate into the Bulk, the closer everything is in time and space. The 25 trillion miles at less than 1% penetration of the Bulk Zone was reduced to about 25 earthly miles. Going from galaxy to galaxy was now a possibility, and the desire for humanity's seed to be spread was strong.

Our unmanned probes had been mapping a very small infinitesimal portion of the Bulk Zone, so we were able to overlay the gravity lines of force in the Bulk with our normal star maps. Once the orientation of entry was established, it was actually easier than many thought possible due to what later became known as "black budget table-top accelerators" (later called TTA) and the gravity vectors established by our mapping probes.
My launch day came on the first of January to celebrate the new year and a new future for us Homo Sapiens.

Dimensional Phasing:

Dimensional Phasing was not hard to do. Instead of the normal one plus percent penetration we use to travel via the BULK in our dimensional universe, when going to a different dimension, you actually had to do almost a 5% penetration into the Bulk boundary. Once there, you had to know which frequency to select for your desired destination. This had all been figured out long ago by the USSB droids or otherwise dimensional travel would be a hit and miss affair with no guarantee of ever returning home.

Everything above that you wrote is amazing!!! Thank you! You have to see thing with different thoughts and power! It all makes sense to me!

Some questions are why was the universe created! What created it! How was it created and if it is expanding where is it going!

You answered all in a different way
