Do you play a musical instrument?

Exactly! Drumming up tempo is amazing exercise.

I went last night to a music venue for a local blues band in Guadalajara, they a four piece (two six string, bass and drums) with a guy joining with harp and sax. No singer, but phenomenal musicians every one of them. They did covers and jams, and even asked if anyone wanted to come up and join!!

One young lady got up and absolutely killed the bass and sang. Everyone did a solo, and the two guitar players were brothers and totally reminded me of the dynamic of the Young brothers. I bet they do an amazing AC/DC act.

My SIL caught some on her phone but I’m not sure if I can post any of it. Legalities?

My SIL also was trying to get me to jump up and join in, but my chops just weren’t there. Also a few too many cervezas. Anyway it was fantastic to see, hear and feel the live music in that old venue!!!!

Sorry for the ramble folks…

I just recently dusted off my guitar after a couple years of sitting idle and cleaned it up a bit. This happened because it was set up near a big basement window that the new washer/dryer is coming through and we're getting ready for that, but I got sidetracked and went into full-blown guitar setup mode instead.

I got a big Raven amp with a 15" speaker, and a smaller Fender with a 12". I set the Fender on top of the Raven and I'll be plugged into and using both at the same time – it's a pretty cool looking stack!! I plugged the guitar into the Raven and then I go out from the effects(send) into the Fender. I also have a Metal Master pedal between the guitar and Raven.

The guitar strings have certainly seen better days, so I'll be re-stringing that today, and while the strings are off I can clean the guitar up a bit more with some Guitar Honey on the fretboard and whatnot.

I'm also going to tune the guitar down a few Hertz from 440 to maybe 432 for starters, and then the real fun begins when I start playing around with all the effects, volume, and tone controls I'm going to have.

I can play a tune or two on the harmonica and that piano I play chords and tinkle on a keyboard with a band. I sing well enough to make a few bucks. I have sang with local, not made it type musicians in Nashville but I moved away. Working on my new location in the Mtns with the Blue Grass types and Merle or one of the George's. I found some Lynyrd Skynyrd fans at the last stop. There is hope for me yet. I can sing without accompaniment but the folks don't know John Denver music here. That is rare. Gospel is a good way to connect with these folks too and I love that too, but their style is different than what I grew up in Nashville singing.
