"ZARDOG'S ODYSSEY". A Single Sentance Story. - Nerb - 05-19-2024

A Single Sentance Story.

Rules:
Continue the story of "Zardog" using a single sentance for each new reply.
Commas are useful but should not be abused.
Use "NEW REPLY" to add to the story, not "Reply" or "Quote" as this will add other's words unnecessarily.
Try to stay within the theme of the story and use references previously incorporated for a good timeline.
Keep an eye on the previous sentance to make sure it hasn't been superceded before you post your own.
Multiple posts are OK if things get slow but don't overdo it. Leave space for others (and our hero to breathe).
Edits are OK as long as they don't change anything important for other posts.
Be creative and imaginative and have fun. "Zardog" is on a journey and needs your help.....

"ZARDOG'S ODYSSEY"

Zardog stood on the windswept clifftop gazing at the wide landscape of the Kingdom that spread before him not knowing what to do next, his electron taser still humming for more after all the destruction it had just caused on his gruelling journey towards this single moment in time and space.

So many Elak were strewn about here and there, he had to think through making his way forward, gingerly stepping over the sizzling corpses he thought, "I'd better get more charge packs, I never burned through that many before!... they just kept coming and coming."

Thank goodness he still had his backpack and it was freshly stuffed with supplies from the raid he did on the Elak factory and luckily he grabbed the charger that was with all the other tech strewn around the research department.

Zardog then proceeded to pace about the edge of his bloody battlefield to the point of precariously parading while simultaneously pondering a viable rappel of this precipice that was descending before him.

Then he saw it, hiding under an old tarpaulin with just the shape to give away the treasure that lay beneath.

He could barely contain his excitement as he propelled himself outward from the rockface while targeting the most robust anchor-point with his carabiner bolt gun as he rapidly descended.

Some kms away, hidden amongst the dense alien foliage, Tals clawed fingers closed around the weapon that would end Zardogs expedition, instantly. Tal pondered, friend or foe, watching and waiting

This planet was like all the others for a space mercenary like Tal. Zardog could be another target to collect a bounty on. A price put up by The Federation for all outstanding rebel warriors. He just needed to know what side of the war he was on.

But just as Tal had taken his aim and was ready to down his prize he was thwarted by bad luck for both him and Zardog as the carabiner bolt gun failed and the his target moved too swiftly, downwards and in obvious peril.

At that moment, Tal knew his next mission, find the man who sold him this gun, and extract payment.
