Dear Humans - LightAngel - 11-20-2024 Just close your eyes and listen to this. If you have a favorite drink, then create it and then close your eyes while listening to true art create by your fellow humans. There is still true talent created in this world, let it win over nonsense! AI is nothing but a coffee machine, it is meant to help us in time of need, but never let it control you or your thoughts! Let your sincere heart be your guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aWDlaxvEZo Mod edit (Encia22): Embedded video RE: Dear Humans - Sirius - 11-20-2024 But a brush is wood and some horse hair, and a guitar is some more wood and metal strings... What I find interesting is that I can listen to the same music from an artist in the same style and it's always good, the same goes for paintings or whatever. With AI I found it loses all sense of wonder after the first work it produces and then becomes very mundane, like a decoration. Bare in mind that AI isn't simply copying artist works, it's just like another person looking at something and then producing the same. More like an hallucination or dream from the machine based on what it learned than copy pasting. I created "The Hollow Lens" to produce "art" as a world building tool. When does it become real art? As part of a story or in the presentation, will it only ever be decoration? How much "work" do I need to put in before it is art? AI doesn't have a soul, and therefore it can't really feel the pain that humans can feel. And that's why AI is just like a coffee machine and we should always look at it that way - if we don't - then humanity will lose their way in this time and space. The "AI" like chatgpt is just a tool like the brush, paint or guitar. hmmm, how to explain this. Gas powered lawnmower vs scythe? These things are not at the level of terminator or iRobot and yes it can't feel or any of the other humans stuff because it's just a tool like a musical instrument (a very juiced up instrument)...we are using the term AI very loosely here. If it was a real AI, I would be very interested in what it dreams and view as art and would have conversation with it on these topics. We will probably find it hard to relate. We will probably find it hard to relate. The dreams of AI will always be the dreams of another creature who dreamt it a long time ago. So maybe it would actually be easy to relate?! But, you have to dream your own dreams, and that isn't always easy, but it is the true way. If you could work more on the picture and add a little part of your "soul" then I would call it art because then I would feel something when I looked at it. By the way, we all have our own ideas about what we think is art - I need to feel something before I can call it art. But, each to their own - art should always be about freedom. RE: Dear Humans - Sirius - 11-20-2024 I do agree 100% btw, it is soulless. There is no other way to describe it, at first it's a curiosity and then the mind picks up something is uncanny. Everything is detailed and perfect, but also wrong. What's your thought's on this? RE: Dear Humans - LightAngel - 11-20-2024 (Yesterday, 01:20 PM)Sirius Wrote: I do agree 100% btw, it is soulless. It actually made me laugh, it is done very well! But for me it isn't art, it is entertaining. |
