There are no stationary objects in the Universe - putnam6 - 12-17-2023 Never thought about our solar system moving through space, as shown in the second depiction, it seems so chaotic no doubt this model shows more of a possibility of cosmic collisions There are no stationary objects in the Universe: even our Solar System is moving not only around the center of the Galaxy (828,000 km/h) but also relative to its nearest stellar neighbors (70,000 km/h) https://vxtwitter.com/Rainmaker1973/status/1736016848494154133?s=20 RE: There are no stationary objects in the Universe - Kurokage - 12-17-2023 Leant this at school. Always fun to think of the speed we're flying through space at... https://www.space.com/33527-how-fast-is-earth-moving.html Quote:Earth orbits around the sun at a speed of 67,100 miles per hour..... It also makes you think of these people who claimed they've time traveled. As the Earth is never in the same spot twice?? Always fun to think of the speed we're flying through space at... Well yes I learned that too but always visualized it as the whole solar system moving in unison, Like a galactic Frisbee that isn't what the graphic depicts at all, it is as if the Sun is barrelling through space dragging all the other planets and their orbits are wobbly AF. think I posted the wrong link https://x.com/missfacto/status/1735729684342882599?s=20 RE: There are no stationary objects in the Universe - Kenzo - 12-17-2023 (12-17-2023, 02:08 PM)putnam6 Wrote: Well yes I learned that too but always visualized it as the whole solar system moving in unison, Like a galactic Frisbee that isn't what the graphic depicts at all, it is as if the Sun is barrelling through space dragging all the other planets and their orbits are wobbly AF. Amazing...and chaotic to be honest. Brace for impact! RE: There are no stationary objects in the Universe - BeyondKnowledge - 05-16-2024 This video breaks down the motion in each reference plane. It even covers the oscillation along the galactic plane. Also remember that the dinosaurs lived on the other side of the galaxy. This solar system was way over there when they lived. I thought about this thread the other day like Kenzo it's so chaotic RE: There are no stationary objects in the Universe - BeyondKnowledge - 05-16-2024 (05-16-2024, 08:32 AM)putnam6 Wrote: I thought about this thread the other day like Kenzo it's so chaotic I see it more of very slow cyclicle motion rather then chaotic. Like the motion of a huge machine that moves in many ways yet never crashes into itself, except for the occasional dust that get in the way. I assume thats moving with us as well. NGL it all has a Horton Hears a Who feel to it. We are nothing but a speck of dust surrounded by smaller specks of dust RE: There are no stationary objects in the Universe - BeyondKnowledge - 05-16-2024 (05-16-2024, 12:31 PM)putnam6 Wrote: Well its chaotic The dust is anything that gets out of synk and smashes into the mechanism. There is an element of chayos but for the most part, those big rocks play nicely. RE: There are no stationary objects in the Universe - LucidDreamer - 05-19-2024 Likely very true, vibrations seem to go on and on. Even the "stationary" is vibrating and thus moving. I recently read an article about researchers able to "listen" to a conversation that had previously taken place in a room between two people. Those researchers recorded the vibrations from a potato chip bag, one made of foil, and were able to isolate the vibrations still vibrating from the earlier conversation. A bit alarming, as well as exciting. We know everything is subject to vibrations. I wonder how long voice vibrations last and if it's possible to hear conversations from days, weeks, or even years earlier. Likely someone already knows the answer. With AI it might be possible to isolate sounds, voices, conversations from the past and maybe even the future. Intresting thoughts in this brave new world https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/speaking-of-science/wp/2014/08/04/mit-researchers-can-listen-to-your-conversation-by-watching-your-potato-chip-bag/ |
