Quote:During the live-stream, Walz told Ocasio-Cortez that if he and Kamala Harris win the election, he would make her the Speaker of the House.
"We're gonna win this election. We're gonna make you put a gavel in your hand in the House," Walz told Ocasio-Cortez

This is more proof that Harris and Walz are telling stories about their moderate ideas, they are radical, and will enact radical changes  if elected.  They speak of ending the filibuster, and I'd wager the making DC and Puerto Rico a state, along with packing the SCOTUS would also be on the agenda.
Maybe I'm out of touch and this is the kind of thing the left really wants.  But all that I have learned about these proposed changes, leads me to believe they would usher in the exact things we have been talking about as "bad" for years now.  NWO type bad.  One party rule bad.  Eat the bugs, own nothing and like it bad.  Hyperbole?  Maybe, but I don't think it is.  Choose wisely.

I can't imagine how people can 'overlook' things about this particular Democrat 'ticket.'  They must surely know what the party is up to.

I only reject the idea of a "Puerto Rican" statehood...  I feels to me like the people of Puerto Rico are not all 'on board' with that... although I expect their own media might be forging a narrative about that... typical.

As for a "DC" statehood... it seems that only has a value towards political matters... not actually in the vein of a "benefit for the country."

NWO, WEF 'globalism,' all that stuff... yeah, many of them have 'signed on' by party default.  It's a shameful departure from what the people need, let alone want.

how did it get this way, and what direction will it all go in the near future?  A left implosion might be a great thing for a news cycle, but I don't think it would be good for the nation as a whole.  But it sure seems as if that's the way the bus is driving.

I think the added states, are to give the Dems more senate seats and reps.  Then the SCOTUS thing is obvious.  They would pull that string when they had control of all three branches.  And then if the right ever got in control again, they would follow suit.  48 justices?  Why not 68.  I think we need some new ideas.

We're only a few years away from CourtGPT; it's probably being beta-tested now. At which point, when it becomes prevalent in the lower tiers of the justice system, meat-judges will quickly become overwhelmed by the volume of argument in the cases they must review, and the practice of electronic mediation will propagate upwards. Just as the US Code has become so complex as to require teams of people to interpret even narrow portions and translate them into the Code of Federal Regulations, case law and precedence will become so voluminous as to exceed human capacity to oversee. It's inevitable.

From ARSTechnica: AI ruling on jobless claims could make mistakes courts can’t undo, experts warn
Subtitled: Nevada’s plan to let AI rule on unemployment claims is risky, experts warn.

Nevada will soon become the first state to use AI to help speed up the decision-making process when ruling on appeals that impact people's unemployment benefits.

Just food for thought....

Take away her pro-Palestine squad stuff, and I kinda like her style. It's very "ghetto Eastcoast bitch that doesn't take shit." The main difference between Bronx, Southie, and Kenso is the accent, all things said.

Fortunately (for everyone) a search in Google of "AOC Speaker" has this top result.

No, Tim Walz Did Not Suggest AOC Should Be Speaker of the House

Quote:Ocasio-Cortez had mentioned her membership on a House artificial intelligence task force, which prompted Walz, a former lawmaker himself, to say he was glad she was on it and that he thinks too often people are “cynical” about politics. He then said, “We’re going to win this election. We’re going to make you—put a gavel in your hand in the House, maybe for that committee, to go and get something done.” Walz went on: “I think for your listeners to understand, when you’re in the House of Representatives, whoever has the gavel, that’s pretty much everything, makes the decision. So if you want folks who actually have a to-do list and want to get it done, stay engaged.”

The extended remarks alluded to “the gavel” to reference power in Congress, held by the majority party. But it’s not just the Speaker who wields “a gavel.” Committee chairs, who belong to the party in power, also hold gavels during committee hearings, and though the Bipartisan Task Force on AI is not a committee and Ocasio-Cortez is not a chair of it, she is the ranking member (the lead Democrat) on the subcommittee on energy and mineral resources and would presumably become the chair if Democrats win control of the House.

So Time says no fears if you want the longer answer... and think Democrats can still win this election.

On the other hand, I am wondering what the result of winning an election by CONTANSTLY taking things out of context and outright lying will look like. With this edited misquote as one of the endless examples.

If (interests supporting Donald Trump) are willing to do this on EVERYTHING, and never factually report a damn thing, and Trump willing repeats their flimsy use of truth, and sometime absurd claims, is his administration going to govern based on those same things taken deliberately out of context or made up to win?

Its already grown fruit. Now every time you fact check a claim like that, it's met with, "STFU evil lefist NWO apologist, we are the purveyor of the gospel truth the globalists hide!"

Oh dear! From that article they found mistakes when comparing to the originals:
Quote:Under the contract, DETR will essentially transfer data from transcripts of unemployment appeals hearings and rulings, after which Google's AI system will process that data, upload it to the cloud, and then compare the information to previous cases.

But! There is an easy solution, currently being pioneered in the field of medical transcription:
Quote:That tool was fine-tuned on medical language to transcribe and summarize patients’ interactions, said Nabla’s chief technology officer Martin Raison.

Company officials said they are aware that Whisper can hallucinate and are addressing the problem.

It’s impossible to compare Nabla’s AI-generated transcript to the original recording because Nabla’s tool erases the original audio for “data safety reasons,” Raison said.

Nabla said the tool has been used to transcribe an estimated 7 million medical visits.

See? Just delete the original case law, police reports, and such, and use the version that the AI considers correct. No contradictions, no problem. Easy-peasy.

Edit to add: I'm sorry for ignoring AOC. Wait, no I'm not.

OMG ... that right there is enough incentive to vote for Trump ... just to keep AOC out of that position.   She's a total idiot.
