Another UFO? in Norway. - DarkSpace - 10-19-2024 the article is in norwegian, but can probably be easily translated. the image is what is interesting. to me it looks like some kind of aircraft, but that has apparently been "dismissed by the "government" and officials. any thoughts? Kvalsund, UFO | UFO i Kvalsund? – Lyden var ekstrem (nettavisen.no) RE: Another UFO? in Norway. - ArMaP - 10-19-2024 It looks like a long exposure of an aeroplane going from right to left, as we can see the left side red light and the headlights pointing to the left. If we know the location I'm sure we will see there's an airport to the left. RE: Another UFO? in Norway. - DarkSpace - 10-19-2024 i checked the map and couldn't see any airports nearby, but i could be wrong. the closest one being Hammerfest. :) Kvalsund municipality, Hammerfest. the approximate location on google maps : https://maps.app.goo.gl/3FgYG6WMZTsP1Evr6 . someone with the knowhow could probably get the exact location from the image. found another one from 2022, it's a paid article, so not sure how to share that. the military didn't know what it was. it includes a video of the Phenomenon.(flowplayer) Vest-Finnmark, UFO | Lydløs og raskere enn et jagerfly – mystisk objekt observert på himmelen (ifinnmark.no) RE: Another UFO? in Norway. - Maxmars - 10-19-2024 That's a very interesting silhouette... I hope we can find a more detailed/better resolved image. I had some difficulty reaching the source, but that might just have been my browser settings (I reject many java scripts by default.) Thanks! RE: Another UFO? in Norway. - ArMaP - 10-19-2024 What looks like the closest area for the photo to have been taken is at 70°30'38.12"N 24° 1'20.80"E, although it's really hard to say, as the camera on the Google Streetview car is very different from the camera used to take the photo of the opening post. This is what the view looks like: (I hope the link works, click for full size) I suppose the field of view is more or less this: (click for full size) I think it's possible that it really was an aeroplane going to Hammerfest airport. Now, why was I so fast saying that it looks like a long exposure of an aeroplane? Because of, among other things, this photo I took some time ago. PS: the photo above was taken with a tripod, a handheld camera would show some shaking, making things slightly blurry. RE: Another UFO? in Norway. - UltraBudgie - 10-19-2024 I would think you could estimate the exposure from how choppy the water looks. Not knowing how the water was like at the moment, not really, the only thing I can see is that it wasn't a very long exposure, like 10 seconds or more. RE: Another UFO? in Norway. - OneStepBack - 10-20-2024 For several years I lived on the flight path into Manchester airport, a very busy airport in the UK. When the sun was getting low in the sky most of the aircraft looked like this. Some even looked extraterrestrial. The object in the sky is so far an unidentified flying object. A UFO. Photo: Marion Palmer (Private) On Wednesday evening at 8:08 p.m., Marion Palmer heard an extreme thunder. At first, she thought it was an air ambulance, which she knows very well what looks like, but when she came out, something completely different was waiting for her. ("There was a lot of light, and then a flying object that was something I hadn't seen before," says Palmer. Since it was something completely unique, she chose to snap a picture. I honestly can't remember if it was the color it was, my mobile phone does a bit of its own, but there was a lot of light," she says. Facebook SuggestionsThe photo was then posted on Facebook, and it didn't stop with shocks and good suggestions. "There were a lot of suggestions that were made, I don't know how many of them were just meant as a joke," says Palmer. The proposals that were made included a comet, NATO operation, flying saucer, UFO and weather balloon. As far as Palmer knows, no one else has seen what she saw. "I've joked that it's a UFO, but I don't believe in that kind of thing," she says. Not a NATO exercise or cometHammerfestingen contacted Avinor, which has control over the airspace, they had no further information on what the phenomenon could be. A frequent suggestion was that it was a meteor. Hammerfestingen therefore contacted the meteor network Norway, but they can tell that it is not a meteor or anything of astronomical interest in general. "I don't know what it is, but it looks strange," says the leader of the network, Tor E. Aslesen. Another proposal was a NATO exercise, but the Armed Forces could deny that it was a military exercise. They pointed out that an ambulance had flown during the same period. Finnmark Hospital has so far not been able to confirm whether they had an ambulance helicopter in the air during the period when the "UFO" was observed. "I know very well what an ambulance helicopter looks like, and it's not like that," says Marion Palmer, who still hasn't gotten any clarity on what she actually observed in the sky. # my comment (that being said, the witness in this case is a "famous" author) the exact time and location of the photo is known from the article, so weather conditions and airplane traffic and be easily discovered. |
