Question - Iran Missiles? - FlyingClayDisk - 10-03-2024 Question for the group... How does Iran fire missiles into Israel without those missiles overflying either Jordan or Saudi Arabia (and Iraq of course)? Even if they fired them from most places in Syria, they'd still overfly Jordan. About the only place I can see where Iran could fire missiles on Tel Aviv without crossing Jordan would be extreme western Syria. Additionally, to fire any missiles from inside the Iranian border is minimally a 600 mile flight. Your average truck mounted 'rocket' isn't going to be able to accomplish this, instead Iran would need a ballistic missile of some sort. So where are these missiles and rockets coming from? RE: Question - Iran Missiles? - UltraBudgie - 10-03-2024 I thought those were ballistic missile that Iran recently fired. I heard they have a 12-minute travel time, from launch to target. Wait a sec -- if it's 600 miles distance, that's 3000 miles per hour! Can that be right? Edit: Huh, maybe: Quote:Iranian media reported that Tehran used a new missile, the Fattah-1, in the attacks. Tehran describes the Fattah-1 as a “hypersonic” missile – meaning it travels at Mach 5, or five times the speed of sound (about 3,800 miles per hour, 6,100 kilometers per hour). |
