Paranormal and other Bizarre Happenings - CCoburn - 08-29-2024

Even though I was getting into some really fringe shit post-2015, stuff I would rather not elaborate on, and trust me, it's anything but typical. I'm not talking about dimethyltryptamine(DMT) either or any other commonly known drugs – nothing illegal.

Anyway, the point I'm making here is that I've had profound paranormal encounters and experiences my entire life. I seem to have even retained some nightmarish encounters from within my crib as a baby. The list goes on and on as very lengthy and diverse.

Some memories become vaguer throughout the decades but the profound essence of any particular experience still remains.

I don't think I've ever written about this one before, and there's a little waffling about whether this is a good choice for a thread starter, but it's just one of those things that creates a lasting impression. I also thought about doing this chronologically, and this isn't too far off from that:

Once when I was around maybe 8 or 9 this bizarre occurrence had a very profound effect on me. I was at the Boys' Club playing Bumper Pool(those smaller tables with the bumpers in middle), and I started making every single shot. This just went on and on and for some reason I couldn't miss anything, at all. Bank shots and bumper shots – it didn't make any difference. I don't recall exactly how long the experience lasted, but it was long enough to invoke a feeling of awe and that something supernaturally strange was occurring. Eventually it was time to go while still unable to miss anything, and I'm sure I probably even extended my stay because of all this.

Could the above have just been nothing more than a bit of minor skill combined with a whole lot of luck? I don't know, but that's not how I recall it feeling at the time and shortly thereafter. Coincidentally, I did used to carry a rabbits' foot with me on a key chain for good luck – not much luck for the rabbit though.

I recall walking home and it was all I could think about. If it was supernatural, one obvious question would be why? I could speculate.

It's just another one of those strange happenings and this one's a little different than most. There were some before, but there were still many more to come after.

Many times when I'm watching my YouTube vids, I think that this is some really good stuff and that maybe I should share a link here, and of course everyone watches YouTube, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we are recommended the same or that we're getting the same search results.

The original intent here was for my own personal experiences, but the above also nicely fits the title and overall narrative.

Some of these videos have a little bit of everything from cryptids to any other type of paranormal activity or "bizarre happenings" you can imagine.

For the past couple days I've just mostly been watching these for a bit and then eventually start to 'drift off' and just listen, and then when I wake up I try and go back and pick up where I left off when I was in a more coherent state.

Lots of woodsy, hiking, and camping type scenarios here(one of my favorites), and one of the segments where I left off even mentioned being in close proximity to the woods where Travis Walton was (allegedly) abducted, but don't blink or you might miss it.

I thought I had replied to your thread CC.  I have not encountered this before while searching. How would you describe your skill at that time? Many years ago I watched a young lad pot all the balls when breaking leaving the cue ball on the table.  He could not repeat it so he put it down to a stroke of luck.

Five days ago I asked Chat GPT-4  to scan the internet for any similar events. I thought I posted the response at the time.  The AI found three similar results -

The Ghost of Bobby Mackey’s Music World
Bobby Mackey's Music World, located in Wilder, Kentucky, is a nightclub that has long been reputed to be haunted. The building is said to have a dark history, including tales of murder, suicide, and Satanic rituals, leading to its reputation as one of the most haunted places in America.

One of the common paranormal experiences reported at Bobby Mackey's involves the billiard room. Visitors and staff have claimed to feel an eerie presence while playing pool. The atmosphere reportedly changes, with a sudden drop in temperature and the feeling of being watched. Some have even claimed to see balls moving on their own or hear disembodied voices whispering.

The Stanley Hotel’s Haunted Billiard Room
The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, is famous for inspiring Stephen King’s *The Shining*. The hotel is reputedly haunted, with numerous paranormal experiences reported over the years. One particular area of interest is the billiard room, which was once the private sanctum of the hotel’s founder, Freelan Oscar Stanley.

Guests and staff have reported seeing the ghost of Mr. Stanley himself in the billiard room. He is said to appear as a shadowy figure, watching over the room or sitting in a chair by the fireplace. People have also reported hearing the sound of billiard balls clinking together when no one is in the room.

The Haunted Pool Table of The Myrtles Plantation
The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, is one of the most haunted homes in America, with numerous ghost sightings and unexplained phenomena. Among the many haunted objects in the house is a pool table that reportedly moves by itself. Some visitors have claimed to see the balls rolling across the table on their own, as if an invisible hand is playing a game.

The story about the haunted pool table is part of the broader lore surrounding this famous location. While specific sources often mention various hauntings at the plantation, including the mysterious pool table, many details come from a mix of local legends, personal accounts, and paranormal investigations.

These three stories might not involve specific games of Bumper Pool, but they do connect the game of pool with paranormal experiences. The combination of an old, often dark history and a quiet, focused environment like a billiard room can make for a spooky atmosphere, perfect for ghost stories.

Although these stories are similar they are not identical.

With me this was just some isolated event. The weirdest of the weird because I don't really recall anything else similar like this ever happening. I was just some kid playing around on a bumper pool table who for some reason couldn't miss anything at that specific time.

This would be tantamount to some kid that makes half(or less) of all his shots to an inexplicable fifteen consecutive moderate to difficult. It really had no business happening the way it did, at the time that it did, which is why it had such a profound effect in making me feel the way that it did.

There really isn't a whole lot that happened prior to this in comparison to after, and most other events would fall into a more mundane paranormal category. Prior there were the night terrors of this big bird trying to steal me away from my crib, and the profound premonitions I had of my mother dying that later on came to fruition when I was only eleven years old.

Many times it's the FEELING invoked from these occurrences that remains strong and perseveres throughout the decades i.e. is remembered, while the numerous individual and specific actions of such events just fade into oblivion, although there still may be a "strong" image or two that still remains to varying degrees.

My favorite memories were always when everyone else was scared shitless.

There was just something about things that make everyone else go into superstition overdrive.

One of the funniest things that ever occured was with me and three of my friends when we realized we were literally a Libra, Aires, Capricorn, and Cancer. Just like The Craft.

And every time we did something together at night something crazy happened. We had the night of dead birds appearing everywhere. The night of the silhouette in black seen in multiple locations miles apart. The "abandoned insane asylum" scared us away when our headlights caught a figure in the window. I thought it could be a crazy drug addict and convinced them to turn around.

Of course Ms. Water was a freak and could "read auras" and "locate energy vortices." So one night she found us a energy spot and we did some Angelfire.com inspired seance.

We asked for the ancestors of the land to make an appearance and everything started feeling eerie. Like the air became ominous feeling, and we started hearing galloping horses. We were near a railroad in the BFE of Arizona. But heard horses and heard their contact with the trail.

10 PM isn't usually the time for galloping through the desert, because there were tons of ranches out there, and it could have been a coincidentally timed night ride, but we never heard voices.

From that point on I thought, "Okay, maybe she can read energy fields."

I was also skeptical so it got me into scientific possibilities for this otherworldly phenomenon. Like what could cause phatom apparition and galloping hordes to manifest a minute after asking.

We were close to a railroad, and there was an inversion layer that night. All sound was amplified. But a few trains had passed and were identified. So I rationalized it as two renegades out night riding at galloping speed. Enough moonlight that night.

For junior and senior year we were actively seeking the paranormal.

What I find interesting is that my "experiences" began around the same age.

I wonder how many other child around 8 or 9 begin to have Visitations around the same age?

Mine didn't really "begin" at that time, but I'd say it was active. Part of the issue here is that we forget a lot. We forget all but the most "profound" although everyone has their reasons for remembering what they remember; I've also retained some of the silly and lackluster from nearly a half of a century ago.

What I've thought about on occasion lately is why some would be "visited" and not others? I mean at face value, if one is being watched then it would seem to follow that we're all being watched, unless of course there really is such a thing as lost or abandoned souls?

And then of course there is the question of who/what exactly it is that is "watching"? We know that there is roughly a nine-billion-year gap between the beginning of the universe and the creation of Earth. It's the stuff that angels, demons, and djinns are made of, or some advanced alien civilization (in lieu of the primordial God) that created Earth as some sort of genesis project, and watching over it perhaps much in the same way an aquarist watches over their aquarium and keeping a closer eye on their favorite 'fish' as opposed to some of the others.

I can relate to this.  I can only remember incidents that I wrote down (usually the same day or the following day). I have odd images, as you mention, but also a range of emotions that relate to my experiences but are not associated with any memories.

I suppose I can remember enough, but I also documented on internet forums, some of which are gone now, but there's still a couple left. I also have a habit of writing and saving in Wordpad.

Some things are difficult to put into words, but we usually have images/events and their associated feelings bound together, but often times I have these isolated feelings that don't appear to be tied to any memory; I think my brain even fabricates vague memories to satisfy the feeling. It kind of reminds me of (and feels like) déjà vu with more emphasis on feeling.

I suppose it can work both ways, and this is a little bit of a gray area. They may even appear to converge simultaneously. In a way, this may even be a little peculiar only to myself because for a time now I'll just be lying in bed and cycling through various abstract imagery like landscapes and rainy days of some distant unknown time/place, or even sounds like a distant foghorn on overcast days. I do this primarily because I do enjoy those 'déjà vu' type feelings that are invoked.
