Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Iran shortly after attending the inauguration ceremony of the country's new president, according to reports from Iranian and Hamas officials early Wednesday. The unexpected killing has sent shockwaves through the region, raising concerns about escalating tensions and potential retaliatory actions.
While the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown, suspicions have quickly focused on Israel. The Israeli government has long viewed Haniyeh as a key adversary and had vowed to eliminate him and other Hamas leaders following the militant group's brutal attack on October 7. That assault resulted in the deaths of 1,200 Israelis and the capture of approximately 250 hostages, further inflaming an already volatile situation.

Interestingly, Ismail Haniyeh's assassination displays Israel's dual path with the war in Gaza and eliminating terrorist threats elsewhere. Israel's undertaking the assassination of terrorist threats isn't a new development and was their response to the Munich Massacre.
The most significant danger of any assassination program is mistaken target identification/murder of innocent people. Yet Israel knows of those risks from the Lillehammer affair.
Lastly, the contrast between the Israel Defence Force levelling city blocks in Gaza and assassinating terrorist leaders is stark. So, Israel has the means to take out terrorists without pursuing the strategic dead ends (regime change, destroying Hamas in Gaza and pulling the rug out from the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank).

This is a really big deal. Not that he was killed but where, right inside Iran turf! I mean right within the country. Seems to me many citizens are fed up with the ongoing ruling class and its now easier to recruit others from the other side. So counting the Trump administration target this is now up to three, regardess of who or the means.
So lets take this a step further. Didnt Christofer Wray raise the possibility of a USA being under threat, earlier this year? Crowdstrike? So this guy is just taken out? Seems the USA or others are goading Iran into a mistake that may come this year on USA soil.
IMO the Democrats in charge want a war and are looking for an excuse. Possibly that was the situation in Pennsylvania? They may in their own minds wipe out the national debt with the war booty.
All I know is that Ms Giggles better walk a fine line and do what the USA INTEL wants if she becomes President. Same for the rest of the squad.

This is worth a listen... I have wondered how the Houthi in Yemen were getting their targeting information. There have been over 100 mission request sent to Washington one of which was to remove the Iranian spy ship supplying the Houthi targeting info on ships in the Red Sea. In typical FUBAR Washington response nothing happens to stop the Iranians.
