I learned to shoot as a kid in the 60s. I asked my father for a pellet gun and he told me no. He said those are for vandalism. He signed me up for shooting lessons at age 12. I've never been one to blame others for the action of an individual. He was the guilty one. Turns out he was bullied in school and a loner, which should answer all questions of why. He wanted to leave this world as an Internet celebrity. Probably not even political.

I can understand the Secret Service agents holding fire, but I can not understand why Trump was not immediately surrounded by the Secret Service as a human shield when a possible threat was identified?

Mu understanding is that Red, White and Blue banner in front of him is thick metal, hence bullet resistant...

I suppose my point is there was a serious breakdown in security and communication.

As I posted before, as soon as the secret service or any law enforcement spotted the shooter they should have gave the command to 'protect the asset' out of an abundance of caution...it has happened before over what turned out to be a non threat.
