I could easily be a baited hook that makes me defend myself from that point of the exchange on, or general attempt to bait me.

There's the slight possibility you're civil about it when I affirm what you say, but a much larger possibility it leads to further bait I am prompted to respond to.

Which is a disadvantage for me.

So yes, I agree, she got her ass kicked, but needed an answer that both affirms that and simultaneously deconstructs the response in a way that makes it harder to respond to with deliberate provocation.

Which you can call a long way of saying "yes" if you want.
