Not too sure about the veracity of that one mate. Quote:In September of 2007, researcher Loren Coleman, who was a consultant on the Mothman Prophecies movie, posted an article on the blog Cryptomundo entitled "Mothman's Fate" in which he said "There are no records of Mothman at Chernobyl or Galveston or before any earthquakes. Since Mothman encounters did not happen in those locations, such unfortunate tales are ones that both [John Keel] and I tried to remove from people’s mental 'databases' as soon as the movie and documentary noted them in 2002."[2] Loren Coleman and John Keel also pop up on this video and there's some really intriguing interviews with the initial eyewitnesses from Point Pleasant. RE: The Mothman - KTemplar - 06-13-2024 Watched the video clip, and the scene from The Mothman Prophecies show Alexandre talking about over 100 sightings in Chernobyl. Was that part made up? Was that part made up? Yes that part was Hollywood embellishment (or distraction) mate - the claim also appears in the documentary promoting the movie in the same year (see 39:20) - apparently both Loren Coleman and John Keel were pretty angry about it and spent quite a lot of time 'trying to remove it from people’s mental databases'. Did you catch this documentary from SmallTownMonsters? Thought it was a pretty good one. RE: The Mothman - KKLoco - 06-13-2024 Thanks for the great thread guys! Where is Wavelength? She is a wealth of knowledge on this topic. She moved to Point Pleasant and investigated it. You could call her the Mothman expert. Hey mate was a big fan of Wavelength's threads and yes it would be very nice to get her input - do you know if she's still active? Regarding Keel thought there were some really interesting comments made in this dossier concerning 'harassment' and when it comes to freaky MIB reports Medway's catalogue makes for some fun bedtime reading lol. No worries mate and Steve Ward also discusses the fictional Chernobyl aspect here (from 20:00) - he also mentions how several different 'Mothman' sightings from Chicago all originated from the same IP address so looks like there are folks out there trying to 'muddy the waters'. RE: The Mothman - Karl12 - 08-31-2024 Pretty fascinating romp through the global history of flying humanoid reports (including Mothman). From 5:30 Quote:Ken Gerhard joins THC to discuss the tales in his book: Encounters with Flying Humanoids: Mothman, Manbirds, Gargoyles & Other Winged Beasts. We also talk Thunderbirds, The Tengu, and the airborne mystery of Leonardo da Vinci. A fun and creepy show for all those Cryptozoology fans. |
