I don't agree with Kondziella, Martial, and others who theorize that NDEs might be part of a last-ditch survival tactic. They could only look at people who have been attacked and nearly died at the scene for comparison. Why would anyone who nearly dies from severe pathology or accident unconsciously feign death? I nearly died from drowning as a kid. When they pulled me out of the water I was blue and bloated according to my father. I did not experience a NDE.
