RE: ADC energy. More efficient electricity transmission? - BeyondKnowledge - 07-10-2024

I thought this would bring up some serious discussion from a few. Thank you FCD for bringing up the financial implications of this abomination of a paper.

I first read about this on Google news in a garbage article about NASA discovering a new energy proposed by Edison. They went on and on about how it was going to revolutionize the power grid and repeatedly stated no one was able to understand how it worked. I located the paper in question and was shocked at how awful the proposal for this ADC energy actually was. Anyone with the slightest understanding power distribution would laugh at most of the 'new discoveries' in the advancement of power distribution efficiencies.

I find it encouraging how angry the ones like you, FCD, and others, got when they actually read the paper from NASA. There are some that actually understand what is going on.

Not Edison who was promoting DC.

You are absolutely right, and boy do I feel silly.  I stand corrected!  Dang it!

You were slightly put off by being upset by the paper being discussed. It seems the absurdity of that paper is viral. Don't worry, I am sure you will get over it.

LOL!!  You're not far off!  I'm still fumin' from it actually!  My brain completely "short circuited" and I spewed out some serious "harmonic noise" by completely unexplainable accident!  I don't know what I was thinking!

I have located the article that caused me to look into the NASA paper.

Please view with caution as it makes the NASA paper look like a work of great intelligence.

https://www.ecoticias.com/en/nasa-energy-predicted-edison/3964/

And the government is involved beyond NASA. As quoted form the linked source.

On the other hand, Terry Boston, advisor to the White House and U.S. Congress and former CEO of electric utility PJM, expounded in his opening remarks during the event that “ADC is the greatest innovation” he has seen in his “50-year career.” .

I can't!  I won't!  You can't make me!  Lol

My brain will probably explode!

I'm late to this conversation, sorry... much has already been said... but I am thoroughly disappointed...

Some political-appointee at the "PR" and "Marketing" department at NASA needs to be let go with prejudice.  (Also, someone needs to investigate the relationship between the "tech proprietor" and the political and banking machinery.)

NASA is a DOD operation, not a minion of the newer DHS 'contract house.'  (Welcome to the governance of "appearances.")

This idea was 'borked' when it was proposed... This appears as just another funnel to dump tax-dollars into a new 'green'-money laundering operation.

Shameless.

You are not late to the discussion.

Papers like this just make part of NASA look bad. Why was there no internal review of it before publishing? Any engineer at NASA with electrical knowledge would have known how rediculas this ADC energy actually is.

I am certain whoever approved that paper is proud of what they did without knowing anything about what the paper actually says.

I am not saying NASA is dumb but they put electronics engineers on an electrical engineering problem an came up with a mostly useless answer.

Any discussion?

I agree with you on the above. NASA lost me on the O Ring thing. Back in the early 1990's I met a PhD who was an expert on O rings. We were OEM contractors for their SCBA'S. He got into a technical arguement with them as they wanted us to change our O ring groove to their's which paralleled the Challenger design.

He showed me their and his letters. In the end NASA backed off and let us continue as-is as we had no failures, leaks or life cycle failures. It was all about the design of the machined O ring groove. Now back on topic.

I dont know about you but I am all for the environment and I am no tree hugger. I have recycled all plant waste into the ground since being a kid. We still do it today and have a bumper crop of tomatoes from seed and yes, they do have flavor.

You could be correct and that is way beyond where I want to go. That being said they will fix it as they have to as as a human race we have no choice. Thats why Congress is banging on the UFO door as someone here on this planet already has the technology that we need as a species to survive. IMO I dont belive that your position is totally without merit but to state that its a smoke and mirrors I disagree. The world is run by money and they all live on coastal shorelines throughout the world. The climate is getting hotter and the seas are rising. Those with the bucks would not stand for a charade. Just like Mr. Eat Bugs over at the WEF.  Hes an engineer by education. His old man was a Nazi in WWII.

It will be fixed. Bet your 401K on it!
