I WAS NOT making fun of you.  I really think this is a great work.   You see it as a one-off rambling.   I see it as a wonderful poem, which -- if viewed through the filter of musical cadence -- is also a very impressive work.

I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable.   I truly believe this is a great work, and I won't apologize for that.

You say you're not a writer.   I'm sorry, my friend, but you are wrong.   You are a writer.   You may not embrace that function within yourself, but I hope you choose to explore your creativity.    I have written song, poems, short stories since I was 12 and I'm now 66.   I know what I like and I know what I'm talking about.   I read more than one book at a time, and I'm a voracious reader.

I don't compliment people for no reason.   I was truly touched by your poem, and I hope that you continue sharing your amazing talent with us.    Thumbup Thumbup Thumbup

Hi midicon! It's great to see you here.

Sorry, but I missed your post first time round.

I'll add my voice and vote to to those of Quantum12 and argentus in saying how much I enjoyed your poem.

After the first few stanzas, I was reminded of Coleridge's 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. It was more than just rhymes cobbled together; you managed to tell a tale... a very enjoyable one at that.

If you write, especially as you do, then you are a writer. I remember your other works on ATS and you could easily self-publish a collection; even if it's just to share your creativity. Whatever you do, let's remember another ATS member, Dapaga, and his humble phrase...

Thanks Encia, you are as always the epitome of kindness! That is a great quote and something I can relate to!

That's a really cute story poem!

RE: Tinker the Cat - schuyler - 07-10-2024

Not that it matters in this context, but my first cat was named Tinker.

Thanks Byrd! It is kinda cute with terms like 'witchy path' lol.

I remember when this site first started there was a list of potential forums and the word beside poetry was 'never', which made me laugh! I liked that! So I posted a story wrapped up in a poem! The one drawback was it was longer than I'd have liked but it sort of wrote itself really.

Thank you!

That's a neat name for a cat schuyler! I don't know how I came up with it. Ironically in the poem I had to shorten it as it didn't fit the metre and Tinker became Tink!
