Quote:US citizen, 67, ‘has ribs broken’ by Border Patrol agents after being dragged out of car while driving home into street they’d blocked off.The incident unfolded Saturday in Chicago’s Old Irving Park neighborhood, where residents say federal agents disrupted a children’s Halloween parade.
Shocking video shows a chaotic scene on a quiet Chicago street as Border Patrol agents in tactical gear drag a 67-year-old man from his car while children in Halloween costumes look on in horror.
According to his running club, the man, who is a U.S. citizen, was returning from a team run when agents pulled him out of his vehicle, tackled him to the ground and kneeled on top of him, allegedly breaking six ribs and causing internal bleeding.

The incident unfolded Saturday in the city’s Old Irving Park neighborhood, where residents say the agents disrupted a children’s Halloween parade amid an immigration enforcement operation.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the Chicago-based DWRunning club identified the victim as one of their athletes, although it did not name him.
“One of our athletes was on his way home from a team long run yesterday and as he turned onto his block, found that Border Control had the road blocked,” the club wrote.
The violent clash, captured on multiple cellphones, has reignited outrage over the tactics of federal immigration agents operating in residential areas to enact Donald Trump’s stated policy of rounding up and deporting illegal immigrants.
It came during a broader immigration raid in Old Irving Park, where residents say federal agents deployed tear gas without warning as families gathered for the neighborhood’s Halloween parade.
Asked to comment on the incident, Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, released a statement to The Independent, addressing the operation but not the specific treatment of the 67-year-old man.
“On October 25, 2025, Border Patrol conducted an operation that resulted in the arrest of, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who has previously been arrested for assault.

=#171717“During the operations Border Patrol agents were surrounded and boxed in by a group of agitators. Federal law enforcement issued multiple lawful commands and verbal warnings, all of which were ignored. During the operation, two U.S. citizens were arrested for assaulting and impeding a federal officer. To safely clear the area after multiple warnings and the crowd continuing to advance on them, Border Patrol had to deploy crowd control measures.

Since moving onto Chicago, it appears as the authoritarian police have stepped up their brutality on it's citizens, and from the pictures, it's doesn't appear that the agents were surrounded by agitators and acted out of 'fear'.
Maybe the Children who were preparing for a parade appeared threatening to the agents?? Or perhaps the neighbors, who were still in pajamas looked very menacing??

Updated with a recent video from the New York Post...

Two US citizens were arrested for assaulting and impeding a federal officer, Mclaughlin said.

What the DHS official says in the quote above seems more plausible to me than the residents' story that ICE showed up randomly in the middle of a children's parade and started throwing tear gas without warning.

Quote:The man, who the club identified as a US citizen, was reportedly dragged out of the car and thrown to the ground shortly after agents “threatened to break his window,” if he didn’t move his car, the club said.

I'm going to guess he decided to box ICE in and not let them leave. The same "running club" that is spinning the story is the only one claiming he suffered broken ribs. And if he did, what did he expect was going to happen?

As for the neighbours, the story of a "children's parade" seems like BS made up to make ICE look like monsters. What's next, ICE is going around local hospitals and ripping babies out of incubators? It is shameful to use children as political props.

This happened last Saturday. Here is the original ABS News story:

I find it odd that, in the article I had to find since you posted no direct link to it, there are several pictures from this incident of other drivers in their cars without being arrested.

Wonder what this guy did to single himself out of all the other drivers? Guess we will have to see who else posts an article about this, hopefully with more information, or even an un-edited video of the incident.

Conveniently left out of your post was this….
“During the operations Border Patrol agents were surrounded and boxed in by a group of agitators. Federal law enforcement issued multiple lawful commands and verbal warnings, all of which were ignored.“

Another case of FAFO.
Impeding, assaulting and threatening law enforcement in the course of their lawful duties is probably not the best idea.

I did some research into ICE funding.
It's larger than most countries military budget. That tell me 2 things.
One, we have a focused and well funded law enforcement agency that does seem to operate with their own set of rules
And two, welcome to the police state.

What countries are you comparing their budget to?

Oh, you mean countries that don't really have much of an active military? What a shock that an agency that is actively trying to get rid of the criminals in our country illegally would have a nice hefty budget.

But, I'm sure you'd be shocked to know that in 2022 ICE still had a higher budget than most South American countries......

Look, I know it's easy to be cynical about America, if you're biased that way, but think about it: where it really sucks is in countries where no one gives a rat's ass about how they treat their citizens or conduct themselves internationally. Too small and poor to care about. Unfortunately, there's a lot of places like that in the world. Venezuela is not that. Yes, they're getting flack because of how their government is leveraging their natural resources and trade to hurt others internationally. But, that interest also indicates something else: opportunity. They could turn their state around. They have those natural resources and regional influence. Many places don't have that opportunity. Those are the places that really suck.
