I think it's still funny but it is a lot less funny BECAUSE it is more political.
I can see where they are coming from with the Satan thing because it's just a juvenile pun.
I support a lot of this current Administration but I can still laugh at things.
Life is absurd.
Yes, now a lot of the political stuff is lazy writing, but there are still some good moments.
I am still waiting for Trump to be revealed as Saddam.
Same voice, same mannerisms. I think it's Saddam in a mask .
But the Labubu episode was the best one so far, it had the most on-point satire. IMHO
The Cristie N. thing with the dog was old fast.

SNL is not funny anymore either. Tried watching that too and pfft.
But....I'm a big fan of Rick and Morty so maybe I'm just weird.
SNL hasn't been funny in 20 or more years.

"South Park" is renowned for its sharp political satire, using humor to critique societal issues, political figures, and current events through outrageous and often controversial storytelling
I think it's a safe bet the show's longevity alone proves its ongoing popularity and influence.
It's certainly got a loyal global fanbase with millions of viewers worldwide.

Some stats:

I imagine if South Park were only on TV and not available to stream online, the stats would be a lot different.

SNL is interesting, because it's pretty much pure shtick. It's at its most funny when you have a peer group to share it with, and laugh together, repeat lines, imitate characters, and make in-the-know jokes about. That's why most people's "heyday" of SNL is when they're in high school or college, whenever that may have been. After that it's pretty much the cold open, host monologue, weekend update, and possibly talent act that are the only bits worth watching. 50% of weekend update is objectively hilarious, in my opinion.

My old George Carlin DVDs still make up laugh.
Bill Hicks still makes me laugh.
Old 70s and 80s sitcoms and even Last Man Standing makes me laugh.
I wonder how George Carlin would come off in visual media like South Park.
There's something more about "in you face" when it's visual. IMO

I think it's a safe bet to say traditional TV is on its deathbed.
And that social media and streaming platforms are the future.
TV ratings are dropping across the board.
And the declines are only accelerating.

At the risk of drifting off topic.
Carlin was a genius.
Brutally honest, thought-provoking, and unapologetic.
Not to mention completely hilarious.
