Oh, what's to become of me?
I'm beginning to look like a gnarled old tree.
Oh I know what they say about numbers and age,
Tell that to my legs and those varicose veins.

Oh what to do with my pineal gland,
It's a vitrified fort..a castle of sand.
Oh I know what they say about Chamomile tea,
Tell that to those shaman who drink DMT.

Oh bring me a cup of that high spun gold,
Before Dave Hudson gets too old.
Oh, and fetch me some of that pixie dust,
My mechanical elves are beginning to rust.

Oh, did you hear of the old alchemist?
Three lifetimes on the housing list.
Oh, he knew all about the king and the queen,
But invisible men can never be seen.

Oh fetch me that soma, I read Robert Graves,
That magical mushroom, back in the days.
Oh play me a song on that old Rumi flute,
The reed that was born in the fountain of youth.

Oh suffer the children, to come unto me,
The philosopher's stone, the Jungian dream.
Oh wisdom and innocence come take my hand,
And like old Zarathustra, I'll wander the land.

I seem to recall you posting this a while ago in a thread somewhere, doubtful it was the old site but it might have been!

It was the first thread I ever posted back in 2012.

Before that, I had found myself replying to threads now and then with a rhyme. Who knows why lol. Anyway, that was originally just a reply to an immortality thread but I changed my mind and was going to ditch it, then thought maybe I'll have a go at a thread. It is meant to be a bit tongue in cheek really.

The search for immortality does seem timeless doesn't it?

I like it, packs in a lot of thought and understanding of a topic as old as written memory and yes! It gives a giggle too.
