The draft, immigrants... a question. |

I was conversing with my son today about the 'new' media coverage of "automatic draft" legislation.
In case you missed it, you longer have to "register" for the draft. It will be done algorithmically, from the database of all the information amassed from your simply being here, birth certificates, licensing info, banking info, etc. When you become eligible, you will simply "be recognized" by the system as "eligible."
I suppose this is more of a convenience thing, than a master plan to eliminate low efficiency engagement with the folks down at "selective service." I further postulate that a means to dispute eligibility must then be proactively sought by the citizen (or not) to declare themselves a 'conscientious objector' or a 'religiously exempt person.' I would imagine they will set the bureaucracy on that task.
But the amazing thing to me, was the legislation's wording as to make it clear that you need not be "a citizen" to end up 'drafted,' only a resident of the US (and it does specify "males.")
Now, my son and I immediately though of that scenario where hundreds of thousand of those who recently emigrated to the United States, were drafted, because it virtually assures expedient approval for an application for citizenship. Or would it be an open incentive: "citizenship for service?" I have misapprehensions about that policy... most of them running deeply. Down that path could lead madness. If we start there, I wonder how soon we would creep to other places... and what that would mean.
But the truth is, had I found myself so oppressed by my life, and the main problem was something I could actually flee from, I just might. So I get that things can suck so badly that "I just jet." And if I am sincere about living forthrightly, and regret deeply the stress I cause to those unprepared for my arrival... I just might want to take some action to demonstrate my noble intent. Serving in the military is restricted for citizens... or it used to be (with carefully managed exceptions.)
My question: Should 'undocumented' immigrants be offered citizenship in exchange for military service? It seems, that's where this will go.

Julian Assange to be released from jail |

Quote:Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, agreed to plead guilty on Monday to a single felony count of illegally disseminating national security material in exchange for his release from a British prison, ending his long and bitter standoff with the United States.
Mr. Assange, 52, was granted his request to appear before a federal judge at one of the more remote outposts of the federal judiciary, the courthouse in Saipan, the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands, according to a court filing made public late Monday. It was a fitting twist in the case against Mr. Assange, who doggedly opposed extradition to the U.S. mainland.
Barring last-minute snags, the deal would bring to an end a prolonged battle that began after Mr. Assange became alternately celebrated and reviled for revealing state secrets in the 2010s.
About time!
He should have never been arrested, detained, and finally imprisoned, thanks to the disgraceful British Government and authorities in Britain which fully cooperated with the US demands.
Not to forget, shame on Sweden for trying their best to bring fabricated charges against him on grounds of alleged rape, alleged sexual molestation, alleged unlawful coercion.
A political and ideological persecution of one person who has exposed the US for its wrongdoings. Bravo to Julian Assagne and his colleagues!

Tinker the Cat |

It's like a ghost ship here! So I've written a little rhyme to pass the time!
Forgive me in advance lol...
Tinker the Cat
A shout came from the crow's nest,
"Land ahoy, land ahoy!"
A call to chill the very hearts
Of every man and boy.
Belcraig Rock, the witches' isle,
All but fools would run a mile.
Yet here we were, a ragged crew,
Steadfast to our mission true.
The seer had seen it in a dream,
A cure we'd find to save the queen.
If we could only make a trade
With those old witches of Belcraig.
An old shore line, a makeshift camp,
Foggy, windy, wet and damp.
We lit a fire, we drew the straws,
Who would face those witchy maws.
Old Andrew drew that reed of fate,
And even though the hour was late,
And every step could be his last,
He set off down that witchy path.
And there we sat till break of day,
Till he returned, all ashen gray.
With haunted eyes and baleful glance,
He spoke as if one in a trance.
"One witch left, the last of three,
In fair exchange, I do decree,
That one must stay on Belcraig isle,
To help an old witch pass a while.
Bats and spiders, rats and mice,
Frogs and newts are very nice,
Yet somehow not enough for me,
One must stay, so mote it be."
And in his hands, he held a flask,
The writing said, "up to the task."
And silence echoed all around,
All eyes lowered to the ground.
No one could pay that dreadful cost,
And so it seemed all hope was lost.
When over by the rowboat's prow,
Came an old familiar meow.
The tarp had hid a stowaway,
Tawny, whiskered, striped, and gray.
'Twas Tink, the captain's feral cat,
I swear he understood all that.
He shot off down that witchy path,
As if each bound would be his last.
And as we all stared in disbelief,
Old Andrew said "so mote it be."
So there and then we all conspired,
To never speak of what transpired.
And all we'd given that old bat
Was salted beef and tallow fat.
Some fishing line, a box of nails,
Old gunny sacks and bail-out pails.
For we all knew the captain's mood,
And to a man we understood.
How he would rail and moan and cuss,
He'd rather have left one of us.
And even though we had the cure,
'Twould be the brig or lash for sure.
Sometimes I think of Belcraig isle,
And to this day, it makes me smile.
It made me somehow realise
That hell might just be paradise.
Depending on one's point of view,
When we set out for pastures new.
Like old cats and old boats,
Some might say that hope floats.
Not just for Tink, but for us all,
That we might heed that inner call,
To venture over far flung seas,
And shrouded isles of mystery.

The Case of the Funky Flakes
I now consider this case closed, but it did remain a case of clueless concern off and on for a couple years anyway.
The first time I noticed it I was finishing a drink and saw something in the bottom of the glass. I held the glass up to the light so I could observe more clearly, and I could see what appeared to be these little white flaky things - it was disgusting.
What on Gods' green Earth are these little white flaky things, and what could be causing them? I believe my initial thought way back when was that someone drank milk from a glass and then that glass was not cleaned thoroughly, but that turned out not to be the "case".
My next conclusion was that it must have something to do with the water, but I'm using a Pur water filter, and the filter is still good. I did realize however that the common denominator here was the ice. This only occurred when I was using ice that I froze myself which again naturally points to a problem with the water.
So, to finally resolve this problem once and for all I just need to use store bought water? Not so fast. So, I did begin using the store-bought water but still checking for those pesky flakes just to be sure and then it happened, there they were, again!? WTF!?
Anyway, by process of elimination there was only one thing left, it must be the ice cube trays themselves. I don't know how old exactly those trays are, but they have to be at least a couple decades, and yes, they are also solid white.
I figure the trays must be breaking down in some way and the freezing/frozen ice is pulling up/off or attaching to minute but detectable amounts of the tray material.
I was also buying store bought ice for a while, but it can be a bit of a pain having to make a special trip back to the house just for the ice. I do still purchase the store bought water and the purified is my first choice, distilled second, and spring third, and for ice lately I just use a couple of freezer-safe cups and put a couple inches of water in them and freeze those; I call them ice cups and just pour my drink on top of the ice using them as is, and yes, those are also plastic but quite a bit newer.
THE END

Unwelcome AI data scraping ... we do what we want. |

First came the marketing "full court press" about how we now have to worry about "AI."
Never mind that AI - as far as we have seen - does not yet exist.
But that didn't stop the Big Tech effort to sell algorithmic language modelling as AI... just for the big bucks. And nearly every media outlet went on the march, with a litany of productions and employment opportunities for those who spew words about topics they know little about... again, for the big bucks. Companies began their "investment' games, and marketers began their speculative prospects, while many amateurs played "monetized videos' for fun and profit.
But you see, the reality is that LLMs and algorithmic processes are not AI (anymore than eyeballs, and ear lobes are "humans.")
LLMs kept failing, and people ran with 'the products' to test their limits and flexibility, always encountering the same oddness and irregularities in the machine output... hinging mostly on the limitation that these models all share... they lack "training." By training I mean exposure to words strung together to convey meaning. So the solution for the business is to expose the models to as much human-created content as possible...
Hence, making the machine "crawl" through websites similar to this, extracting phrases, identifying patterns, and rendering the creations of people into a mathematical representations that "work" linguistically (but never mind context.)
Such a process take bandwidth, expends resources, and time; as well as creating a new form of data consumption which the hosting framework was never designed to accommodate.
From Engaget: AI companies are reportedly still scraping websites despite protocols meant to block them
Subtitled: Multiple AI companies are bypassing robots.txt instructions, according to Reuters.
Perplexity, a company that describes its product as "a free AI search engine," has been under fire over the past few days. Shortly after Forbes accused it of stealing its story and republishing it across multiple platforms, Wired reported that Perplexity has been ignoring the Robots Exclusion Protocol, or robots.txt, and has been scraping its website and other Condé Nast publications. Technology website The Shortcut also accused the company of scraping its articles. Now, Reuters has reported that Perplexity isn't the only AI company that's bypassing robots.txt files and scraping websites to get content that's then used to train their technologies.
Reuters said it saw a letter addressed to publishers from TollBit, a startup that pairs them up with AI firms so they can reach licensing deals, warning them that "AI agents from multiple sources (not just one company) are opting to bypass the robots.txt protocol to retrieve content from sites." The robots.txt file contains instructions for web crawlers on which pages they can and can't access. Web developers have been using the protocol since 1994, but compliance is completely voluntary.
So-called AI is actually just a set of algorithmically arranged programs; each on their own not dissimilar from "bots" which used to be aggressively used by some companies to scrape data from websites en masse... mostly search engines. It was ordinarily considered a sort of abusive strain on databases and the equipment that housed them, so as a restraint someone developed a robots.txt file as an instruction set. This robots.txt file is a set of instructions to search engine crawlers as to which URLs they can access on your site. Most creators and website designers welcome search engines that can direct traffic to them, but there have to be limits, or scouring their sites could bring their end-users experience to a crawling nightmare (pun intended.)
These "AI training" forays are NOT search engines... but what they are trying to do is just as bad. And a bit more complicated than simply acquiring active links...
In an interview with Fast Company, Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas told the publication that his company "is not ignoring the Robot Exclusions Protocol and then lying about it." That doesn't mean, however, that it isn't benefiting from crawlers that do ignore the protocol. Srinivas explained that the company uses third-party web crawlers on top of its own, and that the crawler Wired identified was one of them. When Fast Company asked if Perplexity told the crawler provider to stop scraping Wired's website, he only replied that "it's complicated."
Srinivas defended his company's practices, telling the publication that the Robots Exclusion Protocol is "not a legal framework" and suggesting that publishers and companies like his may have to establish a new kind of relationship.
So the idea is... "Your complaints are irrelevant, your robots.txt file is not a law." (Pssh - whatever, I do what I want.)

How about an Interesting as HECK thread??? |

How about a thread on interesting little factoids you been made aware of in life? You know, a thread of..."Did you know?"...kind of stuff.
I'll start, and please feel free to add yours in...
Did you know...Heinz Ketchup is a Newtonian fluid? That the recipe was specifically designed to have properties of a Newtonian fluid, and that this was intentional?
You know how ketchup can be notoriously difficult to get out of a ketchup bottle? Remember the commercials back in the 70's with the little jingle..."An-Tiss-i-Pay-Shun...it's making me wait!"...Well, Heinz (and probably others) realized this so they re-engineered the recipe to create a solution. Make ketchup a Newtonian fluid.
So what is a Newtonian fluid and why does this matter? Well, without getting into a bunch of Physics and Chemistry an easy way to explain a Newtonian fluid is a fluid or substance which changes its properties based on exposure to physical energy (in this case shaking). If you shake a bottle of Heinz ketchup before you pour or squirt it, the ketchup will come out of the bottle much easier. Shaking the bottle actually changes the 'viscosity' of the ketchup so it pours easier, even when cold.
How many times have we grabbed the squeeze ketchup bottle only to have none come out at first, followed by a fire hose gusher squirting out all over everything? Too many times, right? Now try the same thing, but shake the bottle up first and then squirt it...comes out like water, all nice and even and controlled.
When I learned this, I was like..."DOH!!! Why didn't I know this sooner???"
So now you know...ketchup is a Newtonian fluid!
Just think about how many beers you can win at the bar with this little trivia factoid! Ask people to name a "common Newtonian fluid?", "KETCHUP!" and...BOOM!...instant free beer!
Who'da' thunk it???
Here's another one...
Did you know...jet fuel is not particularly flammable. Don't try this at home, but if you throw a lit match into a bucket of jet fuel the match will just go out (in most cases). The reason is because the match doesn't have enough time just above the surface of the jet fuel (refined kerosene) to ignite the fumes, and it's the fumes which burn. Now, if you instead held the match just 1/8 of an inch above the surface of the fuel, and held it there for a few seconds, it would ignite big time (NOT recommended!). And definitely don't try this with boiling hot jet fuel either...just sayin'.
Jet fuel, like its counterpart, diesel fuel, has a much higher flashpoint than gasoline does. And this is why diesel engines have so much higher compression over gas engines, as well as the fuel needing to be atomized during injection into the cylinder, to get it to ignite.
Useless trivia, to be sure.

WHOA!! Someone edited my post over on ATS!! For REAL! This wasn't a moderator snipping something from a post...this was someone adding TO my post like it was me saying it!!!
Forget the topic, but this is the post. Again, the topic is not the point here, but what IS the point is...the bolded text at the end was not typed by me. Those are NOT my words!
Holy Cow!! This is a serious breach of post-integrity! That is sacred ground you just don't do on a forum...ever! WOW!! I am actually stunned!
I brought it to staff's attention here and E1 has (hopefully) escalated it, but WOW, WOW, WOW...not cool at all!
Post-integrity is like completely off the charts in terms of things you don't want to risk on a website, and that is a blatant example of a breach of exactly this!
I don't even know what to say really. I am just shocked anyone would go there.
Maybe I should have posted this in the 'Glitches in the Matrix on ATS' thread, but I thought it important enough to post as a stand-alone post. Mods, feel free to move if you feel this appropriate.

President Donald Trump was in a Drea Last Night |

For the record I dream in color and can smell and feel. It’s been that way my entire life. At times the dreams are so life like I have trouble discerning a dream from actual life. I have been studied by PhD's at York University, London, UK and their opinion is that I have certain clairvoyant "gifts". I have also met in person Father Robert Morey. Hes the Catholic priest from the South Carolina Catholic Diocese of Charleston who denied Joe Biden communion several years ago. He was at my home in 2021 for several hours. Many dont know this but hes also a Vatican trained Exorcist. He blessed me, Sam and our home back then. I spoke to him last week in church. All is good. I can’t call this one a nightmare as thank God I don’t dream about Trump often. The last time I had a Trump dream was in 2016 before the 2016 election. I dreamed in was in a Dallas shopping mall and I met and spoke with him briefly. I don’t recall as to what was said. Possibly DB Cowboy could chime in on this one?
I voted for Trump in 2016 as he was my choice as the lessor of two evils. I didn’t vote in 2020, for anyone.
So last night the dream included my wife and me along with our cat Sam. He's over 20 years old and on his way to his next life. In the dream we were standing on a street corner and out from a corner store comes our former President Donald Trump. He’s walking with Sam as he has Sam on a blue cat leash and collar.
Trump said to us that he had Sam’s hearing tested and out of 50 / 50 point increments he can’t hear a thing and is 100% deaf. Because of that Trump said he bought Sam a cat leash so he doesn’t run into traffic and get run over as he obviously can’t hear.
1. Yes, in real life Sam is deaf.
2. At 20 + years we are now at the stage that Sam doesn’t want to eat or drink on certain days. It’s an end of life thing so I hand feed him now and then. At least he seems happy, purrs and still wants to go outside. Cat diapers are spread on the floor as he can’t climb into his litter box. No smell and no mess. We do what we can as he is embedded in our family
As far as the Trump dream goes so just where in the hell did that come from? In the past it was pointed out that Trump has a thing about pussy cats.
My wife pointed out a BLUE leash? Not a red one?
I really don’t care much for Trump these days. Sure he’s being railroaded on petty bull sheep and the 4th Reich is marching on in the name of the blue party but I can hereby state that I am not going crazy nor do I have the "Joe Biden’s"
I had a dream!

Robert Gribble's Audio UFO Collection. |

At over 44 recorded hours with 252 tracks the Robert Gribble audio collection is a bit of a big one but well worth a listen for anyone interested in UFO research -it contains raw UFO reports from police officers, pilots, USAF personnel, FAA employees, scientists, coastguards (as well as the general public) and involves lots of different UFO descriptions from disc, square, oval and bullet shaped objects right through to boomerang, cylindrical, triangular and arrow shaped ones.
Some of the first hand witness reports also involve aspects like E.M. effects, multiple witnesses, radar confirmation, animal reaction, physiological effects, vehicle interference etc.. and contain accounts of unidentified flying objects entering bodies of water, separating and merging together, pacing aircraft, executing right angle turns etc.. so it really is a great archive for a rainy day.
Review - Robert Barrow:
Quote:THE GRIBBLE COLLECTION
In this remarkable collection you won't find gaggles of stuffy scientists postulating what UFOs are or are not. Instead, refreshingly, here are folks from every walk of life reporting their UFO experiences in disturbing detail, sometimes right after they occur, and sometimes as they happen in real-time-witnesses in denial or scared out of their wits, or people who simply seek an explanation following the most bizarre event their lives will ever know. The depth of military and government agency involvement or cooperation evidenced in these telephone recordings, it must be noted, simply astounds.
Case Summaries
Michel M. Deschamps over at NOUFORS has hosted the archive compiled by Wendy Conners at the link below -there's also a great collection of UFO Government documentation in PDF Format on the site which can be found here.
• Archive - Wendy Conners:
Quote:Research Recordings of Robert Gribble.
Robert Gribble began his research into the unidentified flying object phenomena in 1955. He began the Aerial Phenomena Research Group (APRG), which circulated a newsletter detailing new cases. In late 1974, Gribble converted the Phenomena Research Reporting Center to allow the public a place they could call and report their experiences to a nonjudgmental researcher. Commonly known as the UFO Reporting Center or UFO Central during the early years, it became known internationally as the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). First calls received began on November 11, 1974.
Over a period of twenty years, Gribble received thousands of telephone calls from witnesses of actual encounters with UFOs, which were recorded and data collected. On-site investigations and interviews were conducted by Gribble and his associates and accompanying documentation for cases were archived..
These recordings are of actual witness interviews to UFO encounters and were selected to show a broad based overview of the UFO phenomena being observed and reported.
It makes no difference whether a person believe, or not believe, in UFOs. But the reality is found here and is indisputable. Nobody, as yet, has proven any of the theories of where these objects originate and why they are encountered. Robert Gribble has made the truth abundantly clear…and you'll hear it directly from people of all walks of life. For the seasoned researcher, this audio data is priceless as the missing half of research that written data could never convey…the human element.

Houston, we have a problem .
While AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and AI content detectors are allready old news , the rise of tools that can create Undetectable AI content are allready here . These tools, not sure what is the official name, are "humanizers" ....make content more human. So this cat and mouse game has gone to this next level . Both AI content creators and detectors / humanizers are also doing it as business...for money.
I see troubled waters ahead , we allready detected multible AI contents in the other site , i had impression we can just detect and get them busted......but not anymore. The new tools can make it much harder to detect .
Imagine if you will , a discussion board where someone`s content/reply might not be fully verified reliably anymore as 100% authentic human .
UNDETECTABLE AI / Advanced AI Detector and Humanizer

How to Convert AI Text to Human Text
Quote:
PerplexityPerplexity measures how random or unpredictable the word choice of a text is. For each word or phrase, is the word or phrase that follows logical? Or is it… perplexing?
Language Models try to pick the most likely words. They very rarely perplex you with their word choice. It’s strikingly… standard. AI-generated texts usually have very low perplexity scores.
Humans are sometimes predictable. But often times they are not. Humans tend to take more risks with their word choice. They also tend to be more original. And more erroneous. Humans are more likely to misuse words, have typos, or put words together that aren’t necessarily logical.
BurstinessBurstiness measures the randomness in sentence structure, sentence length, and sentence type. While perplexity measures randomness at the word level, burstiness measures randomness at the structural level. AI-generated text tends to be very evenly structured. Sentences typically have similar lengths. AI-generated texts usually have low burstiness scores.
If you’ve noticed AI writing is “monotonous”, it’s probably because it has low burstiness. The sentences just sorta… blend together. Human writing has more bumps, jumps, and excitement.

Now it's TREES that are a danger to our environment |

New studies are claiming that trees are 'polluting' as our environment heats up.
I am having some difficulty keeping my cynicism from interfering with my thread...
From NewScientist: Overheated trees are contributing to urban air pollution
Subtitled: An aerial survey of Los Angeles reveals that high temperatures cause plants to emit more compounds that can contribute to harmful ozone and PM2.5 air pollution
I will point out up front that the trees are doing what nature calls them to do... but
... From jacaranda trees in bloom to fragrant eucalyptus, many plants emit a class of compounds called terpenoids. For the plants, these act as chemical signals and can serve as antioxidants. But in the atmosphere, such volatile organic compounds (VOCs) react with other pollutants to produce harmful ozone and particulate pollution called PM2.5. ...
These aromatic compounds have always existed in nature... and while the narrative identifies their presence as "a problem," it is not focusing on "other pollutants" with which they combine. Now it's the trees that are the problem.
PS - PM2.5 is the establishment jargon for anything which we can breathe that is too small to effectively filter. ((PM2.5, also known as fine particulate matter, is a type of air pollution that refers to particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less. These tiny particles can be inhaled deep into the lungs, causing serious health problems.))
This is the same categorization that is relied upon to damn folks for cooking food with fire (the nerve) in their homes.
I think it's almost ridiculous how we assume that what we have experienced in our atmosphere for countless millennia is a "problem" (which - I guarantee you will require tax-dollars to "fix.")
Remember, we are talking about Los Angeles California here. A city known for "smog." And while they strong-armed everyone over air pollution, their efforts we stubbornly resisted by the nature of aromatic trees...
I guess we really can't have nice things anymore.
Exactly why plants would emit more terpenoids under hotter temperatures is unclear, but it could be a response to heat or water stress, says Pfannerstill. Probably due to a higher rate of evaporation, hotter temperatures also increased VOC emissions linked to human sources – like gasoline, paint and even scented personal care products such as deodorant and hair spray.

The Limerick Game
The format of the Limerick game is A₁A₂B₁B₂A₃. The syllable pattern is 88558. The first line(A₁) rhymes with the second line(A₂). The third line(B₁) rhymes with the fourth line(B₂), and the fifth line(A₃) rhymes with the second line(A₂) which of course also rhymes with the first line(A₁).
The first user writes the first line(A₁) consisting of 8 syllables, and then the second user writes the second line(A₂) also consisting of 8 syllables, so on and so forth.
Example:
1. So this is called the limerick game,(8 syllables)
2. and it just might drive you insane(8 syllables; rhymes with line 1)
3. Not my intention(5 syllables)
4. this odd invention,(5 syllables; rhymes with line 3)
5. and some might even think it's lame(8 syllables; rhymes with line 1 and 2)
Note: some pronounce "limerick" with two syllables and some with three(two here).
This is just something else to toss into the Collaborative Writing section and throw down a line from time to time:
Hit the road on a rainy day

Following on from this thread do find it pretty amazing that nobody's ever really heard of this chap..
Especially given his instrumental role in the institutions involved in the pandemic; his wacky eugenicist opinions and truly deep connections to the Rockefeller's 'Hasting Centre'.
• 'Bioethicist' Ezekiel Emanuel:
Quote:• Senior Advisor to the Director General of the WHO.
• Chair of the WEF Future Health Care Committee.
• Founding Chair of the 'Bioethics' Department at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).
• Member of President Biden's COVID-19 Advisory Board
INFO:
Quote:An example of a prominent and controversial bioethicist with Eugenics tendencies was the CFR member EZEKIEL EMANUEL, the brother of Donald Trump’s showbiz agent, ARI EMANUEL. Ezekiel Emmanuel was an oncologist and one of America’s most influential bioethicists. During the Covid pandemic, in November 2020, President-elect Joe Biden named Ezekiel Emanuel to be one of the 16 members of his COVID-19 Advisory Board.
At the World Economic Forum, Ezekiel was the chair of its’ meta-council on the Future of Health Care Committee. Ezekiel was the founding chair of the department of bioethics at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).
In 2020, The Hastings Center hosted an online discussion of the ethical issues related to easing Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in the USA: “Re-Opening the Nation: What Values Should Guide Us?” This conversation featured Ezekiel and 2 others. Ezekiel complained that ‘Big Tech’ (Facebook, Google, et al) was not doing enough to share data about users’ movements with governments and researchers, relevant to COVID-19.
By 2021, Ezekiel was publicly advocating mandatory vaccination for frontline workers and students. He also said that ‘immunity passports’ were “ethical” (See his 2020 co-written paper: “The Ethics of COVID-19 Immunity-Based Licenses (“Immunity Passports”)”.
Ezekiel was criticised for his support of ‘death panels’ and for effectively throwing out the Hippocratic Oath, preferring that scarce medical resources should go to those who contribute most to society. As such, he was part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the ‘greater good’ of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. He argued that a life past the age of 75 is mostly worthless. He argued this in his 2014 essay in “The Atlantic”: “WHY I HOPE TO DIE AT 75: An argument that society and families—and you—will be better off if nature takes its course swiftly and promptly”.

Just for those who include Kaspersky software as a reliable anti virus solution, the Department of Commerce (Bureau of Industry and Security) is now including Kaspersky Labs on its "Lists of Entities" which are 'officially' deemed a threat to national security.
From ArsTechnica: Citing national security, US will ban Kaspersky anti-virus software in July
US businesses and consumers will be blocked from buying new software from Kaspersky starting on or around July 24, 2024, 30 days after the restrictions are scheduled to be published in the federal register. Current users will still be able to download the software, resell it, and download new updates for 100 days, which Reuters says will give affected users and businesses time to find replacement software. Rebranded products that use Kaspersky's software will also be affected.
Just a head's up for anyone in the market for AV software.

Easter Island people... the narrative may be wrong |

Apparently the idea that the people of Rapa Nui over stressed their environment, leading to population collapse and the demise of their culture... may have been wrong.
It seems that new evidence doesn't paint the same picture.
Apparently when the idea was launched as a theory, most were quick to accept that a population of some 4,000 couldn't possibly have been able to survive on the island...
Except satellite imagery analysis may show that they may have been better at adapting than we gave them credit for. After all, they had managed to live on the island for many generations while maintaining a balance with their environment.
From NewScientist: Easter Island's legendary societal collapse didn't actually happen
Historians have claimed the people of Easter Island overexploited natural resources, causing a population crash, but new evidence suggests they lived sustainably for centuries
The widespread claim that the ancient people of Easter Island experienced a societal collapse due to overexploitation of natural resources has been thrown into fresh doubt. Instead, there was a small and stable population that lived sustainably for centuries before the arrival of Europeans, an analysis of historical farming practices suggests.
Famous for its towering stone statues, Easter Island – also known as Rapa Nui – in the Pacific Ocean is thought to have been inhabited by Polynesians since around AD 1200. At that time, its 164-square kilometres were covered in palm forests, but these were quickly destroyed, probably by a combination of rats and over-harvesting.
According to a narrative popularised by the historian Jared Diamond, the unsustainable use of resources led to runaway population growth and a subsequent collapse before Europeans arrived in 1722.
The islanders mainly supported themselves through rock gardening, a form of agriculture that has been widely practised in places where soils are poor or the climate harsh. Stones are scattered around fields to create microhabitats and wind breaks, preserve moisture and supply important minerals.
Previous studies have suggested that as much as 21 square kilometres of Rapa Nui was covered in rock gardens, supporting a population of up to 16,000 people.
I wonder at the reason why this narrative was "popularized" in the first place... What might have happened there? No speculation... just an honest question....

Giordano also admits Disney gives bonuses to executives for practicing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), agreeing that "diversity helps with financial incentives." Giordano further claims he’s been denied promotions due to his race. Stay tuned for The Disney Tapes: Part 2 Twitter Video

Neuralink Test Monkey Horror Ignored. |

Don't know if anyone remembers the horrors endured by the neuralink test monkeys a while back but looks like the FDA have now ignored all that and say the tech is safe for implanting directly into human brains.
Complete reader discretion on this one but apparently many of the monkeys had to be 'euthanized' after suffering 'chronic infections, seizures and paralysis' and some even 'chewed their own fingers off'.
Flashback - Monkey Horror.
• Backhistory:
Quote:If you somehow haven't heard of 'Neuralink' which involves the invasive insertion of electrodes and chips inside people's brains then there's a good refresher vid below (apparently the op will be performed by a DARPA robot and the 'brainchip' will be wirelessly connected to a phone app).
Video
There's also this 2016 interview where WEF cult leader Herr Schwab discusses brainchips and, although now deleted, there used to exist an extended version in which he informed everyone they will be 'brainchipped' by the year 2026 (please post if you can find).
Anyway it now turns out there's a major lawsuit filed against Neuralink (with some pretty horrific claims) involving brain-chipped test monkeys suffering 'chronic infections, seizures and paralysis' (also 'chewing their fingers off') - apparently many of the rhesus macaques also had to be 'euthanized'.

Inside Elon Musk’s Neuralink tests that left monkeys ‘dying & chewing off fingers
• FDA Approval.
Right so despite all the simian 'chronic infections, seizures and paralysis' (and finger chewing).. and despite all the serious concerns about lithium batteries inside people's brains.. and despite all the blatantly obvious 'conflicts of interest' on the corporate/government oversight level.. the FDA now says the tech is safe for implant trials on humans.
Pretty incredible stuff.
Quote:Neuralink approved by FDA for brain implant trial on humans
Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain implant company, announced Thursday night that its first human trial has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
In March, employees from Neuralink told Reuters that its application for human trials was rejected by the FDA due to myriad safety concerns, including the use of lithium batteries in the brain. Neuralink employees shared that the FDA rejection also questioned how the device would be extracted from the patient “without damaging brain tissue.”
Animal testing trails at Neuralink have also come under scrutiny for conflicts of interest after 19 members of the company’s 22-person animal research oversight board were employees of Neuralink.

• Salespitch - Chipping everyone.
Author Seamus Bruner also discusses the neuralink monkey horror and truly 'baffling' FDA decision in this short clip.
Digital 'concentration camps' are also brought up.. as well as the inevitable incoming corporate sales pitch, precision propaganda media campaigns and psychological social coercion designed for brain-chipping 'everyone'.

Making an angry caller sound calmer... |

Scenario: Your call center staff are all stressed out. They are constantly being subjected to severely angry customers, and it's taking a toll on their ability to function.
One proposed solution: Use a computer analysis of voice, changing the callers 'tone' by artificially synthesizing their voices to lower pitch and volume - making them sound less abrasive and excited.
Yup, that's the course of action one company is proposing...
From ArsTechnica: Softbank plans to cancel out angry customer voices using AI
Japanese telecommunications giant SoftBank recently announced that it has been developing "emotion-canceling" technology powered by AI that will alter the voices of angry customers to sound calmer during phone calls with customer service representatives. The project aims to reduce the psychological burden on operators suffering from harassment and has been in development for three years. Softbank plans to launch it by March 2026, but the idea is receiving mixed reactions online.
I have no doubt that the concept of hiring and training staff to cope with exasperated customers is out of the question. "What? Spend money developing employees' skill sets?.. Never!"
Equally ludicrous is the idea of engaging a customer to actually resolve their complaint, thus calming them down by taking active control of the actual problem.
Instead let's make everyone sound calm artificially. Let's "impose" a tone on your speech.
I call it "censorship" of the most insidious order.
From the article...
"This is like the worst possible solution to the problem," wrote one Redditor in the thread mentioned above. "Reminds me of when all the workers at Apple's China factory started jumping out of windows due to working conditions, so the 'solution' was to put nets around the building."
...
As one Redditor wrote, "If you have so many angry customers that it is affecting the mental health of your call center operators, then maybe address the reasons you have so many irate customers instead of just pretending that they're not angry."
Coming soon to a call center near you...

Some people just won't get COVID... |

Imagine that! We find, after some study, that human beings are not all going to be wiped out by COVID after all...
Current research has documented a hitherto unreported fact of life, that despite being actually 'injected' with active COVID 19... some people just don't acquire the devastating respiratory syndrome... (Of course these would likely be vilified as anti-vaxxers and ignorant kooks in the responses crafted by media moguls and government agencies...)
Sources:
LabManager.com: New Study Explains Why Some People Don't Catch COVID-19

Nature: Human SARS-CoV-2 challenge uncovers local and systemic response dynamics
... Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has infected millions across the globe with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). While it is potentially fatal, many will have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, but have managed to avoid getting ill themselves, whether remaining negative on PCR testing or having an asymptomatic case of the disease.
While previous studies have examined COVID-19 patients after symptom onset, in this new study researchers set out to capture immune responses right from exposure, in an immunologically naïve cohort for the first time....
[Bold letting mine]
Now this this assertion, of course, would have been anathema to the siren song of "get the Big Pharma experimental treatment, or you'll kill my grandma," and certainly would have been met with eye-rolls from those who wanted any unvaccinated people to be punished and shamed... while many in the internet social media world would have been lambasted by those "assigned" to hammer down any comments like that... (I'm looking at you, former Twitter employees.)
As it turns out there is a "novel" immune response in some people who
Across all participants, the team discovered previously unreported responses involved in immediate virus detection. This included activation of specialised mucosal immune cells in the blood and a reduction in inflammatory white blood cells that normally engulf and destroy pathogens.
Individuals who immediately cleared the virus did not show a typical widespread immune response but instead mounted subtle, never-seen-before innate immune responses. Researchers suggest high levels of activity of a gene called HLA-DQA2 before exposure also helped people prevent a sustained infection from taking hold. In contrast, the six individuals who developed a sustained SARS-CoV-2 infection exhibited a rapid immune response in the blood but a slower immune response in the nose, allowing the virus to establish itself there.
The researchers further identified common patterns among activated T cell receptors, which recognise and bind to virus-infected cells. This offers insights into immune cell communication and potential for developing targeted T cell therapies against not just COVID-19, but other diseases.
I am a little cynical about statements in research like, "the team discovered previously unreported responses involved in immediate virus detection" and "never-seen-before innate immune responses." Only because I understand rhetoric, and I can see that they left out the noun indicated that "they" never saw that before. I'd bet a dollar that someone had seen it before.
As time passes, more "science" will present itself, effectively grinding the 'Big Pharma COVID' narrative into dust.

Thinking what kind of damage that NK could do, how local, how they might attack US soil if given half an opportunity
Send in terrorists maybe, seems the US think they are invincible
With the rise of BRICS, the end of the US petro dollar
A well armed psycho country
I wonder if it’s a threat or Putin is serious
what would China think?
